I love this for its dark acidity, the drops of rain, the coil of the lock and the luscious depth of field.

I went through the whole 24 pages of your stream,And TBH after seeing this shot, none of them(in my mind) could match it!

I love the vibrant colours and the shallow Depth of field,This photo is great!

I like this one the best because usually, or sometimes rather, a lot of animal photography involves them looking cutesy-wutesy, etc. It looks as though the horse is grinning in this one. And good call on the B&W.

By the way, I went to click on your website gallery (http://www.RichardTPhoto.com) but the link is broken; thought you should know.

Waking Dreams photo stream is a wonderful meander through some stunning images, it is well worth spending 10 minutes of your time browsing. I love this.

    wd00003.jpg

Recently, I did a little night photography with some of the gang and it isn't as easy as it looks when you see the way David(?) makes it look so easy. I'm a sucker for black / whites although this looks to have a blue hue to it - perhaps duotone processing. Fabulous contrasts between the shadows and highlights. A stunning scene.

    Fabulous image. Well done.

I like this for many reasons , but mainly the biggest problem with street is trying to secure the shot and keep the background out of play.. so you have a compromise between getting the shot and ensuring the background is blured .... this achieves this in spades ...mind you I wonder would it loose a lot if it was cropped further to frame the main subject more tightly , I think that would make her 'jump' out more

I like this capture of this unusual house/garden. And in addition the story to this picure. But the seemingly ghost adds perfect to the atmosphere.

Hey, thanks, glad you like it. I have to admit though, this was a total fluke shot. Had just landed in Vancouver less than a week and hadn't even gotten to grips with the camera settings as yet (this was taken on Auto mode).

    Here's the original:

    DSC00113.jpg

It was much later on, after I picked up a tripod that I started to explore night shooting, but you're damn right, it's difficult to get the best results, even though there's not much of a time constraint for lighting conditions as with during the day or at dawn/dusk. Vancouver gets quite lit up at night though which helped a great deal, but since I've returned home here, I'm at a loss as to where to go for more night shooting. Although, with all these Christmas street lights abound that's as good a reason as any.

    David

Love this one - the star detail on the ferris wheel makes the shot. I doubt it's as nice a shot in colour.

The Gates are actually the entrance to Sachsenhausen Concentration Camp. The words on the gate were a huge lie. The work the inmates endured killed them by the thousands. It was the Allied Forces (symbolised here by the Lancaster Bomber) that set the survivors free.

I saw this one earlier on your Pix.ie and I loved it. It took me a second to realise it was two swans. It's an unusual take on swans and it's well cropped to keep out any clues as to whether it's one or two birds. It makes you look twice at it which is what photos are all about - looking and wondering.

I love Daire's photostream. I hope i've interpreted the descriptions correctly with these. I've gone for a diptych which doesn't actually exist in the photostream so I hope Daire doesn't mind me bringing them together. I think they tell a powerful story.

Snap Happy doesn't have a lot to choose from but there are some really good shots in the stream. This one caught my eye purely for the humour. The great thing about is kids is they don't care!
They're engrossed in whatever is going on over the fence and the wet trousers don't bother them. It makes you wonder what it is they are looking at that is so interesting. Well seen and well captured.

Thats cool, it's actually given me an idea. I've already printed out that B&W for my dad, I think I'll root out that '69 slide and re-scan it (my scanning skills have picked up quite a bit since I did that !) , crop it to the same format and frame it. It'll go nicely beside the other one.

    The image page.

Looked through dozens of lovely shots but kept coming back to this one. The angle, the lines leading to the vanishing point and the quality of the light all put me in mind of some obscure Cold War espionage film. That might be due my lack of sleep, but its a great photo nonetheless.

This one from crispin is just brilliant!
The low wide angle makes the shoe look bigger than the dog (it probably is).

This appeals to me on many levels , technically all correct , B&W ( my preference , the composition though is very strong and makes it a good street photo , the hint of a hand to the left leaves you wondering what is going on... this is ( for me) one of the tenets of Street .. capturing candids that leave you wondering what the story is ....

Again, kind of annoying looking through pint's stream because its pretty difficult to pick out a shot that ISN'T good. I eschewed the (fantastic) portraits and street stuff and picked this, it looks sinister and dark. I like it.

You have to put the actual URL of an image into those IMG tags. On flickr you can go to the all sizes if available and get it there, or you can trawl through the page HTML source to find it. You just had the URL of the photo page in the tags.
