Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Stepehn has a huge amount of pics in his Flicker but this one caught my eye. The vast expanse of white sand with the three tiny figures in the distance give some idea of the size of the place. The hazy mountains in the background add to the feeling of wide open emty space. Great shot.

A beautiful documentary photo. The empty seats in the background are what really makes this shot in my opinion. There is a sense of anticipation of the big performance on the way that evening maybe. Very pleasing composition too. Good balance in the shot(excuse the pun).

Checked out achtungbarry's stream, and while I'm personally not a major fan of hdr I really, really like this, tweaked and textured in PShop? Perhaps. Looks like a medieval illustration, top shelf:

Hugh_C, your body of work is seriously impressive - I particularly like a lot of your portraiture work.

However, I'm a big fan of the human body and this one in particular caught my eye. I like the realism and asymmetry.

This is one of many that I like from CabanSail's stream. It's a haunting image that has been beautifully presented. You can almost feel the texture on the walls and ceiling and the lighting is moody and somewhat depressing - well suited to the subject.

This image really stuck out to me. I love black and whites but I really liked how the dress so stands out. It's the perfect selection for colourising.

Smart photo. I always get into a bit of a flap with angles and what not and always try to promise myself that shooting from standing position can really work well. This is a fine example of something I always forget.

  • Hosted Moderators Posts: 4,948 ✭✭✭pullandbang

humberklog is a great man to produce some good edgy photos. He doesn't get bogged down with sharpness, composition or any of the so called "correct" ways to shoot. This pic typifies his unique perspective and for me, it's a fantastic photo.
It has that "Blair Witch" feel to it - it's technically arse about face but who cares. It works really well and his stream is always a joy to browse.

Really like this one from Longshanks, great lighting, bit of mystery, just overall a cool shot. I have a pair of Brashers that've seen a lot of rough mountain work in Africa, Wicklow and Kerry. Boots have stories to tell ...

Like the abstract quality of this shot from the Guggenheim. Would like to see the small building at the base cropped out or cloned. It's a great perspective.

I'm pretty sure (haven't looked though) that this was posted before, and is probably your top photo on pix. When the chance was there i said i would give you praise. I loved this photograph when you originally posted it on boards. I loved the tone of it. More importantly though was what you said about the photograph at the time which was you were lucky to have your canon g9 or g10(can't remember which) with you. It alerted me to the importance of a good walkaround camera to have with you for these specific moments.

    Just well done :)

The 3d Pictures do really work. I have one created that doesn't require glasses but just a method of crossing your eyes, much like the Magic Eye craze from years ago. Give that a try, not all my friends could get it to work but those who did loved it.
