Hey guys!

I could really need some help here..
I'm a student from Germany and I'm supposed to create a 'travelling journal' for our english course.
I've been to Ireland a few weeks ago, but i was not able to visit every club I wanted to visit.

Please select 1 to 5 stars for your rating.
And to get a realistic rating I'd like you to concentrate on these points:


1) prices (entry fee and drinks)

Yeah, saw a poll of some description but when it comes to the pubs that are the most popular, there seems to be no law nor order to they way they are listed. Explain please.

I think this is all to do with age really.GPO and Club K generally seem to attract a younger crowd where as Halo is over 21's(on certain nights anyway,not sure which!)

Personally,Although it's not the cleanest and attracts a dodgey crowd now and again,GPO is my favourite.I've had great in other clubs but GPO has been the most consistent for myself.

2) location Just on eyre square and near everything
3) atmosphere Non-existent
4) music Crap
5) hygiene Ok
6) fun More of a pain to be in

GPO

1) prices Mixed bag, getting cheaper though
2) location Just beside Brown Thomas, near the charcoal, smacs and the taxi rank.
3) atmosphere If youre a first year its great, gets progressively more rubbish as you get older I think. AVOID the place at the weekends. Attracts a rough crowd
4) music Good I think, the Bottom dancefloor can get good
5) hygiene Haha this is the GPO, not exactly famed for its hygiene now
6) fun again If youre a first year its great, gets progressively more rubbish the older you are

Coyote

1) prices Great on wednesdays, bad enough every other night
2) location Right off eyre sq, quite handy. Right beside a bus station but not near a taxi rank or S'macs
3) atmosphere Not great to be honest
4) music Not that good either
5) hygiene Fine, Smokin area is a bit of a kip tho
6) fun On wednesdays its good craic, other nights its seriously bad, especially sundays

Central Park

1) prices Bit of a rip, barely any specials
2) location Same as Halo
3) atmosphere quite good
4) music Avg chart and some good tunes thrown in
5) hygiene Yep, usually grand
6) fun Good craic, not as strict as you would think

Halo

1) prices Dont even start, biggest rip in Galway next to CPs
2) location Hard enough to find if youre not from Galway, near a cab office and the Charcoal but there isnt a lot of room for taxis
3) atmosphere Non-existent
4) music rubbish
5) hygiene fine usually
6) fun Minus fun

Cuba

1) prices Average
2) location Pretty handy, right beside a cab office and s'macs
3) atmosphere Barely any downstairs, upstairs 'can' be good sometimes
4) music Downstairs its the same as everywhere else, upstairs does electro/indie which is more my scene so I like that.
5) hygiene Toilets arent great, upstairs looks tatty but to be honest I never go to a club just because its clean
6. Fun Yeah usually good craic, bouncers arent bad inside, just the ones on the door, you could go in sober and still get refused.

Club K
1. Prices: Great, cheapest place in Galway imo
2. Location: PRetty much the same as cuba
3. Atmosphere: Lacking, but usually youre too drunk to notice in there
4. Music: Average chart and classics
5. Hygiene: Fine,toilets can be awful tho
6) fun Great craic I think (no i'm not from the GMIT actually)

Halo is my favorite club by a long way even including clubs outside Galway . Cp's is fine but its for a younger crowd the rest I wouldn't go near.

Coyote's is closer to the Eyre Square Taxi Rank than GPO and Supermacs is only only across Eyre Square from Coyote's,a way more direct route than coming from GPO

Was at new Gigantic Saturday in Kelly's, good times.
I even danced a bit (usually unheard of).
3.5 out of 5 stars.

They gave me a mank Carlsberg but swapped it for a Heineken without comment when I requested it.

You got to hand it to them in club k if ya want a cheap night and most of us can do with them go there but dont think your gonna remember the night after going there?
