Vodafone contention ratio issues

    Hi

    With regards to the Vodafone at home broadband contention ratio- can some please just spell it out to me? I used to think that for the 7mb line is was 12:1 contention but now on the Vodafone website it says 48:1-is this right?

    7Mb was never 12:1. 7.6Mb is 24:1, and 7.0Mb is 48:1, as defined by eircom.

    7mb vodafone BUSINESS broadband has a contention ratio of 12:1

    Just false advertising.

    They said 672kb upload too.

    There are two 7mbit Eircom packages that Vodafone resell. One is 7.6mbit 24:1 contention with 672k upload and the other is 7mbit with 48:1 contention and 384k upload. The second 7mbit package was introduced after the high ping and high interleaving issues with the last speed upgrades, had slightly better pings and was called the "Gamer" package
