Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Really looking forward to this fixture as always. The last time they met in this stadium I was there with the River fans as they lost 0-1.

    Boca have the effervescent Palermo and the mercurial Riquelme, while River have the holy trinty of yesteryear in Ortega, Gallardo and Alymeda.

    River have just one win and 6 pts from 9 games. Boca have won their last 3 after a terrible start to the season and are in 10th on 14 pts.

    In terms of football it's rarely a classic to be honest, but the fans in Buenos Aires make it the most heated game in world football with a noise and atmosphere unrivalled anywhere.

    Not to be missed.

    River are shading it thus far. Ortega has just had a penalty well saved, although it should never have been.

    Just after Ortega misses a penalty, the legendary Marcelo Gallardo strikes again against Boca, this time with a glorious Beckham like free kick.

    Finished 1-1 in the end, Martín Palermo with yet another fine strike against the River. Good game overall, plenty of incident and drama.
