8 weeks from today aint it, seems like a 3rd of the year is taken up by christmas now, starts in October and lasts until mid January, I used to hate this time of year when i worked in HMV, people go mental in the run up to it

I saw a decoration for sale in Dunnes depicting Santa stuck in a chimney, this both distresses and offends me, I dont go into Dunnes to be reminded of people being stuck in chimneys, i once heard of someone indirectly related to someone i may have met once that this happened to

Am I the only one that thinks this is a horrible "tree"? What a waste of money. And I disagree with where it is too. I'd much prefer a more tradition tree stuck in the middle of town where people are doing their christmas shopping.

    Its a Festivus miracle!

While they were bringing the metal Christmas tree up the river it seems to have broke loose and is now leaning against the Shannon bridge and it does not seem to want to move

Damn your quick fingers BM! Lucky that was there or it would be half way down the estuary by now. They were pulling it upstream at 4.20, must have misjudged the current or lost a rope. Several photographers there already.

    Any pictures?

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,267 ✭✭✭concussion

Yeah, but it's too dark to make it out properly. I reckon there'll be some good ones floating about tomorrow. Nothing spectacular anyway, it's just pinned by the current.

The tug boat's engine was working overtime to try and move it. They are going to have to wait till the tide settles before they can move it.
I'll walk down to it in a minute and take a few photo's
