Any idea how low some dealers will go on a Superb 1.9 Greenline with metallic, I got €24k so far with a spare wheel (which the Greenline doesn't get) Didn't sound amazing but it's a starting point.

Some of the "volume" manufacturer's (Opel, Ford, Nissan) had / have margins in excess of 11%. BMW/Mini/Mercedes/Volvo/Honda/Audi/VW/Saab have margins much smaller than that.

Audi margins were reduced when the price cuts were announced, I'd expect VW and Skoda to follow suit. Volvo margins were also reduced when their prices went down last week.

Now that the new pricing is out, can anyone say what margin the dealers have now?

Similar to colm_mcm, I'm looking at buying but offered poor discount so far (about 3-4% on VW factory order, cash)

What car is it? I'd say 4% on a new car isnt bad. You'd be lucky to get any more than 5%. There is less margin in all VAG cars now, due to the price cuts.

CO2 is 155g/KM so just scrapes in to €302 for Road Tax

Also the VW website is now much much clearer on its pricing.

Each section, although has lost its "build your own", has its own individual pricing list.

    Passat for example:

Fabia would be a good way to go. Yeti is the new ugly multipla for 2010.

They will go with skoda, whatever they buy, they have dealt with Harry murphy (newport) skoda dealer for years and he has looked after them really well.

I wanted them to change to something with a small diesel engine but no its gotta be from Harry murphy:rolleyes:

It's a Passat CC 2.0 TDI 170 BHP. Know there is stock around, but being fussy on spec I want a factory order.

One dealer told me that the reduction in price was coming from VW, not from their margin. I was surprised he told me that. He might have misunderstood what I was asking him though

The fact that it would be a factory order means that they wont give you as much discount, when compared to a car thats already on the ground in Ireland.

I'd either look for a car that is as close to the car you want, and expect maybe 6% off it. Otherwise, i'd say 4% is a good discount off a factory order. I dont think you'll beat it at any VW garage.

4% is a decent discount. 2-3 Skoda dealers have confirmed that they are loosing their margin. As someone said, the specs were upped. In my 2010 Octavia RS, I will be getting rear parking sensors and the Bolero stereo.

    Regedit and R.O.R:

So does the VRs actually have a multi function steering or not? My local Skoda man still has no clue.

I def read something that said only with DSG. The father was told the same by the garage which seems mad considering it's on the other manual models

My dealer says no - MFSW in the DSG, 3 Sport sport wheel in the Manual.

Good question. Never driven anything with the Bolero that didn't have a MFSW.

I'll see if Skoda Ireland can give me a better answer.

I haven't driven the 2010 model but I was more than impressed with the 2009 diesel model.

I test drove mine in Harry Murphy, Newport Co Tipperary and the Skoda dealer in Cork.

    I can confirm that.
In UK many potential buyers cancelled their RS FL orders for the manuial as there was no MFSW

Would like toknow that as well. I was told vaguely by the dealer that it definitively works but never asked where's the button

I know its a small thing but that would almost be a deal breaker for me. I think they should be classed as safety equipment

I know I could live without it because my current and my last car didn't have it but its going in the wrong direction removing it.

    Even the Elegance has it.
