    Hi,

I want to claim for relief on €2k medical expenses from 2006. I have since lost the receipts but have a credit card statement showing the payments. Can I claim without the original receipts?

    Regards,
    Tom

Personally i wouldn't risk it- i know a couple of people who've been randomly audited. In saying that i have never had any trouble getting copies of receipts from the gp\pharmacy etc. Have you rang wherever you had the treatment to see can they issue a copy?

Havana is dead right. You don't have to submit the receipts but you are obliged to have them. You have no problem if you can get copies....apply away and get them for your records. But be wary of applying for what you don't have copies of. My GP gets very snotty if we ask for copies of things.
