    hi sorry to post this here but im new to these forums and cant find tech help. i have a dell dim 8400 and afew times i have seen this error pop up on start up. it doesnt happen all the time and hasnt happened in awhile until recently.

    "Drive 5 not found: Parallel ATA, PATA-1 (PRI IDE Slave)
    Intel(R) Application Accelerator RAID Option ROM V4.0.0.6211"

    what is it? any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Parallel ATA = PATA = IDE. I wonder why Application Accelerator RAID Option would even be looking for it.

    Can you tell us a bit more about your system? Such as, what drives you have on it.

    thanks for the reply, as far as i know i have
    2 X 74 GB SATA, WD-EXP
    DVD, 16X, I, F5, SMSNG, DIM
    DVD+/-RW, 16X, PHPS, DIM

    i dont know much about the components of pcs tbh but that is what it said on the packing slip.
