Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Barnsley v Man Utd

Carling Cup 27th of October, live on Sky Sports

So anyway as always a Manchester United its time to move on from the past, and get on with the next game.......

Kuzszcak or Foster in goal for this one. To be honest I have no idea who Fergie will go with her, but I know it won't be VDS.

Defence should be easy enough to pick though Neville could come in.

Fergie confirmed that Obertan will make his debut and saying he will from the start. Gibson to start as well, probably with Anderson seeing as he was not involved on Sunday.

Wellbeck or Nani for the left wing. If they go for Nani then Wellbeck could replace Owen up front.

    Guessing Brown will be captain.

    Foster
    Rafeal
    Brown---Evans
    Fabio
    Obertan--Gibson--Anderson--Wellbeck
    Macheda----Owen.

You could be right as Matt James has been given a squad number so he could be involved in the center, or at least be cover for the center.

Dudgeon has also been give a squad number.

I've only caught glimpses of him in the reserves so will be nice to see how he fares.

I'm praying Eirkem, Obertan, Welbeck and Macheda start in this game. King on the bench.

Looking forward to Obertan making the step up. Hopefully he'll have a blinder again and make the squad for Saturday. :D

Could be a sneaky transfer in FF in a few weeks :D

I was looking at the first goalscorer bets for the United-Liverpool match last Saturday and Obertan, according to the bookies, was more likely to score the first goal than Carrick and Scholes! If that's not the sign of a special player I don't know what is :)

anyway, seriously looking forward to seeing how he gets on. Hopefully good performances from Welbeck, Macheda and De Laet. Would love to see Fabio as well.

Probably going to go play instead of watching the game tonight. Anyone know if Sky or the beeb show hightlights?

    Team for me:

    Foster
    Rafa/DeLaet----Rio----Brown----Fabio
    Wellbeck----Fletch--Carrick---Obertan
    Macheda----Owen

Fletcher in to get some fitness.
Carrick and Rio in to try and find some kind of form.

Have you discussed this with SAF yet? He may see you as a sub.

Looking forward to seeing Obertan tonight. It's like watching a shaved-headed Ronaldo.

that lineup confuses and scares me.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,825 ✭✭✭Mikeyt086

    Possibly:

    Foster

    -Neville-Brown-Evans-Fabio

    Rafael---Anderson--Obertan

    -Welbeck-Owen-Macheda

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 27,857 ✭✭✭✭Dave!

    Pretty exciting line-up IMO

Could it be 3 up top, with Anderson in CM on his own?

It'll either go really well or horribly wrong... I'm not fussed either way, but looking forward to seeing this monstrosity !

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 9,608 ✭✭✭Spud83

    Evans ever played CM before?

He could be in there with Anderson, with Neville at centre back, Rafeal at RB.

Or I could be insane, buy hey so could SAF with that line up. :)

Ya, for Rio when he was out. SAF line-up is OK.

EDIT: Did you mean Corey Evans.

Johnny hasnt but his younger bro Corey has... and... The lineup doesnt say J Evans.

So for all we know it could be Corey Evans and Anderson in CM with Nev at RB!

/i dont think its Corey Evans, although he looks a fine young player.

hmmmm..... this was suggested on RedCafe

3 at CB with 2 wing-backs, ala Meester Benitez :D

    Foster

    Neville----Brown----Evans
    Rafael
    Fabio
    Obertan----Anderson

    Welbeck-Macheda-Owen

Anybody who watches the reserves ever see them play like that, no?

    I don't think C Evans has a squad number. So I doubt it's him.

Sky Sports News have Rafael in CM with Anderson...

Also, Alan, Corey Evans is on the bench and # 31.

Hopefully this doesnt get tough because our bench doesnt have emergency superstars on it. Would love to see Matty Hames and Josh King get a run out.
