Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Try here: http://www.coins-of-the-uk.co.uk/values/penny.html

for British penny values - it would have been a British coin given that it was 1866. :)

eBay might be a good place to look, or The Market Arcade off Dublin's South Great George's Street. There are also a couple of collectors shops in the Powerscourt Town House Centre that maybe worth checking out.:)

Ebay's your best bet, there was no Irish penny in 1866 except perhaps tokens. If you can describe it we can help you out. The other option is to buy him something really nice that's Irish, I can help you out there.

It's a personal present for my father, I'm looking for an uncirculated one.

Off the top of my head I couldn't think of any 1866 Irish token, but I looked it up and theres one from an Armagh spinning mill. Don't think theres any Dublin ones of that year. He must be talking about a British penny which as you say will be expensive in UNC.
