Citizen's Advice Bureau on Augustine St should be able to give you some help, http://www.galwaycic.ie/content.asp?id=2
Also the first consultation with any solicitor is free, well in my experience any way!

    I'd second Citizens' Advice.

Beware on '1st consultation free' assumption though, and ask first over the phone if there is no charge
    .
A friend of mine went to see a solicitor in Ennis (who is apparently, he since found out, notorious for being incredibly rude). He saw the solicitor and decided in the consultation that this practice was not for him. Rang the office to tell them, got the phone slammed down and then a bill for 'services' for 60 quid. He probably could have said no, but simply didn't want to deal with the hassle so paid it (they were a solicitor after all!) ;)

All the info is there for the city and county. It even caters for intractable Gaelgoirs.

If a legal/money problem you go to MABS www.mabs.ie , FLAC if for stuff like barring orders etc.
