Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Anyone got a neck strap for the Canon 50D lying around that they'd sell or donate? or any advice as to how I would replace such an item ?

I set fire to mine last night (dont ask)

    Many thanks

You can buy a camera strap at any camera shop.

Thanks Slidinginfinity, I did not realise that.
I'm wondering though, how difficult it would be to get the same strap with "Canon EOS 50D" printed on it - just to keep the package whole, peace of mind, resale value (being able to say 'in mint condition') etc...

You will probably pay a premium for the EOS version, if you can even find one.
A high quality camera strap could add more value to the resale rather than the EOS one.
Personally I don't really like the straps that came with either of my cameras. When I bought my film SLR (brand new) years ago I bought a upgraded same brand strap that I now use on my Digital SLR.

    Thanks again Slidinginfinity

I have taken your advice and gone for an Optech Pro strap. Actually thinking about it, I was never comfortable wearing that 50D strap because of the big red 'Canon 50d' lettering that screamed "Rob me, Rob me now!"

No no, that's NIKON straps you're thinking about. In the case of Canon straps its the opposite effect. A lot of Nikon shooters use Canon ones for this precise reason :D

I have one, unopened I think, that you can have. I've moved on to a hand-strap

Just wanted to take a minute to acknowledge the generousity of cambo_gueno. Seriously a big big thank you.

Now, do I get any marks for bokeh? or dof ? (it was a dark room) :)
