The heck with Republican faultlines. What are the Democrats going to do? Obama’s approval rating continues to tank. Congress ratings remain at all time lows. Independents are moving towards Republican candidates. Lots of internal fighting by the factions. And almost every day I read an article on how Democrats are panicking about the 2010 election.

So in preparation of the 2010 election, I wrote a song about the Democratic National Committee (D.N.C.), sung to the tune of T.N.T. by AC/DC, about how the American people are starting to view them. So.......... Do you think they would enjoy it. ;)

(Oi, oi, oi, oi, oi, oi, oi, oi, oi, oi, oi, oi, oi, oi, oi)
See us tax all of your assets
Led by our west coast queen
    Out to increase our deficit
    And expect to go green
    Nancy loves the lefties
    Harry’s never been right
    Appointing liberal judges
    The constitution we’ll rewrite
    So forget about your rights
    'Cause we’re the D.N.C, we’re kryptonite
    (D.N.C.) and we’ll give you a fright
    (D.N.C.) more taxes owed
    (D.N.C.) watch us implode
We’re dirty, mean, a progressive machine
    Our czars are wanted men
    The Public Option’s number one
    Government we’ll expand
    So lock up your money
    Lock it up tight
    Lock up your investments
    And avoid all the strife
    Obama's come to town
    And they’ll never rebound
    'Cause we’re the D.N.C, we’re kryptonite
    (D.N.C.) and we’ll give you a fright
    (D.N.C.) more taxes owed
    (D.N.C.) watch us implode
    D.N.C., (oi, oi, oi)
    D.N.C., (oi, oi, oi)
    D.N.C., (oi, oi, oi)
    D.N.C., (oi, oi, oi)
D.N.C., (oi, oi, oi), we’re kryptonite
(D.N.C., oi, oi, oi), and we’ll give you a fright,
(D.N.C., oi, oi, oi), more taxes owed
    (D.N.C.), watch us implode!

I should point out (because its So.Terribly.Easy. to google Anything) That Presidential approval ratings always decline after election.

The one exception to the rule in the last 60 years? Former President Bill Clinton.

Mel got no yellow running through him that I see.

And looking at your graph... both Bush's ratings were up one year after they were first elected while Clinton's were down (hehe).

whats your point? need I look at the dramatic drops of Bush, Bush, Nixon, Reagan, Carter, Johnson, Truman, etc etc etc....

Again youre just making non-points to accomplish....what? Nothing. Based on nothing.

It's your graph not mine. no point, just making some observations about the graph.

It is kinda your point. You said "Obama's approval is tanking"

I'd accept "Tanking" as Nixon during the Watergate scandal, 35-40 points direct drop. Obama on the other hand, peaked at 69, and is now at 52 points after a year. Tanking? Nah.

    graphs:

Independents are moving towards Republican candidates.
Some maybe. Thats a hard one to validate or invalidate. Im not jumping in bed with anybody anyway.
And almost every day I read an article on how Democrats are panicking about the 2010 election.
I'd be interested in being directed to some of these choice articles.

Also who has said they plan to rewrite the constitution?

Except, perhaps, Michael Huckabee. Eejit threw away the election. (more)

Obama is using up ALOT of his political capital in trying to push through health care. When that is over expect EVERYTHING in 2010 to be about jobs.
Unemployment will come down. The only question is when and how fast.

Pass healthcare + restore unemployment rates = win

Thats what his constituency wants. If he can deliver it, he will get their vote again. If however Unemployment continues to rise and foreclosure and bankruptcy rates dont settle down he hasnt a shred of hope.

Yea thats it in a nutshell.TBH you cant argue with that. If he manages to bring down unemployement and restore some pomp to the economy than he deserves a 2nd term

Also who has said they plan to rewrite the constitution?
Hmmmm… do you also ponder the meaning of the lyrics to “Shama Lama Ding Dong” (Just kidding). But okay, the thought to those lines revolves around the selection of liberal judges who seeingly view our Constitution as a living document, and at times rule in opposition to the content (most recently see Kelo vs. City of New London, 545 U.S. 469). In essence the judges decision becomes precedent and essentially serves as a rewriting of the Constitution. IMO The Constitution should be changed through the amendment process, and the theory of it being a living document allows judges to inject their personal values into constitutional interpretation, thereby symbolically rewriting it. Oh yeah, it also rhymed and fit that spot in the AC/DC song. ;)
