Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Hi. Any help that anyone can shed on my problem would be greatly appreciated.
I am a smart customer. And having really Unreliable service and can't get them to shed any light on the problem.
seems line is ok when using orbit and multiple connections are getting a combined speed averaging 790k constantly without fail but single connections are maxing around 450k even from rapidshare premium account. Alot of friends are using the same servers and never hit any limiting problems. And then any traffic through the browser or through STEAM is so slow in comparison. The download manager with multiple files comin down is reaching full 7mb line capacity whereas everything else my line is operating at 1mb speed!

just tried downloading a file from HEANET and through browser was averaging 40k, through orbit was averaging 390k but still if HEANET is'nt limited should have gotten it at 790+ from orbit even and it does'nt make sense why standard browser traffic is so slow in comparison??

Just did 3 tests. 1 from http://www.testmy.net/ and results are as follows

Your connection is: 96 Kbps or 0.1 Mbps
    You downloaded at: 12 kB/s
You are running: 2 times faster than 56K and can download 1 megabyte in 85.33 second(s)
    Member Ident: CompID:772180825228
    Test Time:: 2009/10/28 - 7:02am
    Test Browser and OS info: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 6.0; en-US; rv:1.9.1.3) Gecko/20090824 Firefox/3.5.3 (.NET CLR 3.5.30729)
Test ID: 2OIERHLW5 (if this is a screenshot go to testmy.net to see if this is fake)
Diagnosis ^info^: May need help : running at only 4.65 % of your hosts average (mysmart.ie)
This was tested from a 97 kB file and took 8.295 seconds to complete

second test from www.speedtest.net results are as follows

    http://www.speedtest.net/result/605118875.png

The final test was using speed test on the SMART site. results are..

Download Speed: 945 kbps (118.1 KB/sec transfer rate)
Upload Speed: 284 kbps (35.5 KB/sec transfer rate)
    Latency: 51 ms

You'd need to log on to the router, probably 192.168.1.1 and get to the stats page to see SNR and Attenuation figures. Not sure where you'd find them on the Thomson modem.

    Thanks.

They did'nt seem to have an idea what is wrong but will keep on to them.
Thought it was worth asking around to see if anyone has encountered similar problems.

So from the settings i posted does it make any sense that i am getting such mixed results in performance?

Would it be worth trying another router do you think?

They said that contention on the line is 40:1 but if was getting choked i should'nt be getting the full speed with orbit like i am getting should i?
