    Good news Everyone!
Got a 'listed as non working' VCS from adverts fairly cheap.
    th_IMG_20120111_224741.jpg
It was in decent nick otherwise .One opening and RF cable replacement later its working perfectly!
    Bad news everyone
In the process of testing it discovered my old VCS is actually dead :(
    so breaking even I guess..;)

youtube video added for great justice
    WHY AM I STILL UP!!?!?

Ive an Atari of that model at home myself, but no power supply for it. any ideas where i can get one and what type i need ?

  • Moderators, Category Moderators, Computer Games Moderators Posts: 52,036 CMod ✭✭✭✭Retr0gamer

It's a generic power supply, can get them in most electronic stores. I don't know off hand which one it is but the guys here directed me to one before.

Cool, im always worried about getting the wrong one and blowing something on the consoles.

Afaik the power supply from the newer 2600's will work as well
that's actually the one I used in the vid(although maybe this is why my other VCS has stopped working!:))

Oooh just realized something great about this supergun.

For ages I've wanted a decent arcade stick to use with Megadrive Shmups. Just haven't been able to find one though. Modding seems to be the only way to go.

This supergun takes Neo Geo arcade sticks. Which are fantastic.

I have a JAMMA Megadrive which has the controller ports wired to work with an arcade cab control panel.

So if I plug the JAMMA Megadrive into the supergun, I should be able to play Megadrive games on the tv with a Neo Geo stick.

    AWESOME! :D

You got them on ebay.ie, didn't ya? I knew when I saw them listed someone here would grab em :D Weird to see VB games for sale in Ireland.

Meant to post links actually but I forgot! Probably for the best, hope you got a bargain.

Teleboxer was listed too. Did you already have that one?

  • Moderators, Computer Games Moderators Posts: 5,392 Mod ✭✭✭✭Optimus Prime

No i feckin wasnt logged in when i hit the bid button on that one!! amateur mistake, i missed it because I left bidding to the last few seconds. .. delivery was a bit much on them, originally he was looking for 16 quid!! in the end he was grand and i ended up paying around 8 or something delivery, still got them for cheap enough though in the end.

They where the ones on irish ebay though yeh..

Well he's relisted Teleboxer, so you have a second chance on that one :)

Glad you got them anyway! Didn't know you had a VB? Or is this one of these cases of buying the games before the console?

Didn't bid on it myself as it would have meant needing to buy a VB. No space for one!

  • Moderators, Computer Games Moderators Posts: 5,392 Mod ✭✭✭✭Optimus Prime

yeh i have one, i didnt buy it though, i actually traded a guy on here a NES for it!! about a year ago he posted it in our trade forum here, probably the same lad selling the games, nice guy.

Just ordered an 8MB Memory Card for the PS2 with Free McBoot 1.8 pre-installed for €17 delivered.

It's a great deal when you consider the crappier solutions like SwapMagic go for the twice the price,
and it will save me from having to buy an exploitable game,
open up the case of the PS2 and risk breaking the drive when I horse out the game, and slam in the dvd-r,
just to install it on a memory card!

    Happy days,

Worked out at 30 with postage included, probably take a couple of weeks to get here but don't mind.

WRC plays on a joystick, I actually have it already but it's inside a friends cab which is stored away and I've been trying to get it back for years:rolleyes:

Never even knew you could play it with a wheel, I use to play it in kebab house in Portmarnock as a teenager

    Hmm, interesting.

You put in a bid of 120.00 at 13:57:13 GMT.

Someone then put in a bid of 143.00 at 14:44:19 GMT

Your two following bids were automatically outbid by proxy.

    So either -

Some guy came along and really wanted the board and put down 143.00

    OR

The seller saw you were interested and second chance offer scammed you.

143.00 seems like an odd bid for a seller to put down. Bidders usually use uneven numbers in an attempt to outbid someone by a margin. It's a weird number for a seller scamming to use.

But then, maybe he used this to cover up his shill bid.

    Who knows!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,790 ✭✭✭Jack burton

I was thinking maybe 143.00 PLN could be an even number in another currency. Its very close to 41usd but thats just the way I'd be thinking, 143.00 is a very odd number. Usually when I'm trying to outbid people I get those decimal points involved

XX.51, now that's a dickhead bid and I have won a nice few auctions with it!

I bid on something that seller was flogging recently. A Siouiosfkjttlskjfelhflkgkjlhgjreogsddfsdfelkhjklhjrefkhgonmcvoiwerhklqqwwwrurehtjnrentai ST-V cart. I carelessly bid on it before checking out some bootleg cart comparisons.

The cart, I allege, appeared to be a bootleg. When I asked the seller (on about 3 separate occasions) I got no response back. Thankfully I didn't win the auction. It went for a good few quid too, whoever won that auction I hope got an original cart.

Not retro really but it will be used to do some retro repairs on an Amiga and a few other retro bits.

Nope. Unless I win the lotto, that's the only time I'd buy Darius Alpha. As for Batrider, I'm buying it in person, in Japan and having my photo taken with the shopkeeper when I hand over the Yen. Special moment to savour before I get dragged out the shop by an impatient wife frog marching me clothes shopping at Never 21, Old Look, Trimark and Before... :pac:
