Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

It's like an alco falling off the wagon, isnt it? Same thing happened to me in January. I ended up spending a fortune. Had been good for months and months.

What you pick up anyway, anything tasty?

    Exactly like that :(

Nah nothing out of the ordinary, some cheap £1 2600 carts, snes, Mastersystem Zapper, Sonic Spinball [yes, Sonic Spinball] etc. Oh I got Aladdin on the snes, really loved that game.

I think it was £2 for a boxed copy...for the sake of completion and all :o

The discount code makes it ridiculously hard to talk yourself out of it :(

Something absolutely disgusting just arrived in the post today. I'm ashamed. I also lost something today, any shred of dignity anyone here had left for me.

I couldn't take a picute because just pointing the camera at this... thing melted it with pure evil so I'll use one stolen from google images:

Sometimes I really enjoy not having a car :)

The hour commute I'm about to embark on is not one of them :(

Having a car is worth if, if nothing else, not to have to endure public transport.

    Shudder.

You don't own Super Metroid or LTTP?

But you own Superman on the N64?

Once you get a car you'll never want to take a bus again. The lack of junkies and youths smoking 'adult cigarettes' at the back while playing **** RnB or 'dance' music on their phones is bliss.

I own both although LttP is the GBA version :P Have a PAL copy of Super Metroid and I stupidly bought it on virtual console as well.

Aye. A nice curio. There's a couple of official Photo CD's for the Saturn. I don't think there's any SHMUP smut though... :(

Nice, I'm about to get serious with my Saturn collecting over the next 6 months. Any recommendations are welcome.

I plan to get a few different and rarer Saturn consoles and then start collecting the games properly.

    Should be fun(and pricey).

    :)

Not sure what Saturn consoles you have, however I adore my Model 1 NTSC-J Saturn. If I was to buy another Saturn, I'd love a Victor Saturn.

Some nice stuff in there. I've got a couple of Saturns already, an NTSC-J one and a standard PAL one as well as a dead one. Have a good few games including the obligatory Radiant Silvergun X2(3500 yen each a few years ago in Tokyo, the games not rare by any standard over there) but haven't really done much in the way of collecting.
I did pick up Panzer Dragoon Saga last year.

Isn't that the game Pantryboy got too? Definitely get a Victor Saturn if you are going to collect the consoles. I believe it's the Victor (aka JVC) console that has both the photo operator and VCD card built in.

It's more expensive than a standard Saturn, but it's very cool and looks great. I think Goldstar and Toshiba made Saturn consoles too.

I picked that up over the summer alright. As close to mint you can get it without it being VGA graded really. Had to after playing Retr0's copy, absolutely amazing game.

I have Zwei but haven't played it yet. My Saturn is set up, yet I find myself playing RefRain Prism Memories instead...

Is Saga that rare across all regions?

Funnily enough, Zwei is the only one I don't have :D

It costs a bomb in English. The PAL version is by far the nicest. It's also the rarest. The Japanese one isn't too hard to find, but doesn't go for a lot like all Japanese RPGs.

The source code of the game was lost, so it aint ever going to see a rerelease. Only way to pay it is to shell out for an original english copy or get yourself a some dodgy pirate discs!

A bought a Philips Senseo coffee maker for the better half a year or so ago.
Pretty cool, takes pods and you also fill a milk tank, makes perfect Latte, Espresso, Cappuccino and Macchiato.

They're rarer but not worth much more than normal copies since they don't have nice artwork and sometimes no manual.

Ah some great books in that haul. I can gradually see this forum become the arcade and retro and discworld forum.

I got an unseen university edition of sourcery from the US for like 40 dollars, which is a great price for it.
Boxed SNES games and Pratchett books. Why do I have to like expensive crap!

So I finally got back from London with a Transit load of stuff. Left everything in my office except for my trusty IBM XT.
Flicked the massive-red-awesome toggle switch to power it on. Basically sounded like a jet taking off nearby.
Not great screens, still flicking through what's on the hard disk.
    IMG_5734.jpg

Some sort of rip off of space invaders? IBM have nothing on Atari...

And it came with a copy of IBM PS/2 tools...

Blimey, you must have some storage in your gaf for all those computers! Very nice though I still think you are John Titor! :D

Your collection always reminds me of my quest to import an X68000 and/or a Fujitsu FM Towns. A Marty would be cheaper on shipping, but from opinions I've gathered from research of the Marty vs the FM Towns machines, the Marty is actually a very poorly made and unreliable machine. Same goes for the Car Marty. Sorry for going OT there!

Chances of spotting any of that stuff though, even in Japan, is very remote.

Good luck with your machines though, good to hear you got your haul back safe! :)

Mine is what ya see in my pic. 3 discs in a 4 disc box (no cover).
I see that link the cover says "DISPLAY PURPOSES ONLY". Wonder if that cover is off a retail display box, if it was the promo cover wouldn't it say promo only? The front of it looks like a standard cover.

Found it in a charity shop in a very small town... not what you would expect to find, I had found FFVI, FFVIII and FF anthology in the same shop a few weeks ago.
Must have been from the same lot but missed it the first time round.... actually didnt even notice it was a promo copy till i hopped into my car :o

edit: found this http://ff7-cloudloku.atspace.com/eng.html some FF collection this guys got.
Final Fantasy VII Promo Version: It is a very rare item. As can be noted by the words on the CD, it has never been sold in shops, but only sent to editors, to allow them playing the game in advance (before than the public) and write reviews on magazines and websites. It's a complete version, fully playable and perfectly working, but distributed in an anonymous case, without cover or manual.

I had a few promo disks, sadly they are for sh1te games, Jet Rider, Star Wars: Masters of the muck fighting game, both for PS, also I have a lotus racing game promo for the ps2.

And as for A&R&Discworld forum, as a massive Pratchett fan I'd do it, sure you'd be cutting cutting your own throat not to! Sausage in a bun anyone?
