I'm still lumped with that lot,
    • Gamegear and instructions manual,
    • TV tuner and instructions manual
    • Nuby converter (SMS carts adapter)
    • DC wall adapter
    • Columns in plastic protector case with instructions manual,
    • Leaderboard, boxed, in plastic protector case with instructions manual
    • Logic 3 padded case

Everything in very good to near-new condition (TV tuner and Nuby are like 'just out of the box', the GG itself is really clean and doesn't look like it's ever had batteries in either compartment  sound is good, screen is good, sound and brightness wheels are fine and working)

Now, I didn't get any taker on fleaBay at a £15 start (for the lot, with no reserve, ending on a Sunday evening, and I'm 400+/100% positive feedback over 10+ years, a fair amount recently)...which I'm finding hard to believe :pac:

Am I that out of touch with the retro-market?
What realistic value am I looking at for sorting a swap, oh-ye-respected-fountains-of-retro-knowledge?

Good lord! How did I not spot that? And yes, I was looking.

Picked up Mystical Ninja Starring Goemon the other day for the N64. I got it in a retro gaming shop in Amsterdam near centraal station. Has anybody else been there before? I've been in a few times recently and they always seem to have great (and rare) stock, but I find them quite expensive. Great for a browse though ;)

    Oh no, don't stop there!
I have tons of must have PS games, Kula World, MicroMachines V3, Rollcage 2, Wipeout 2097, Doom, Return Fire, Need For Speed: Road Challenge, Gran Turismo 2, Ace Combat 3, Destruction Derby 2, Klonoa and the still good fun Grand Theft Auto.
Look if you're looking for lists this is where you'll find them but think back to the games you had a ball with in the day and you'll probably knock some crack out of them now.
Don't forget Castlevania Symphony of the Night, if you can find it!

Destruction Derby,GTA and Micromachines! Forgot about all them :o The PS1 and Sega mega drive blend into one for me!

I can see a good bit of money leaving my way over the next year and being invested in the PS1!

I think you'll find plenty here that'd take it off your hands.
Make an ad in Adverts and stick a link in the gaming bargains thread, maybe...

As for a swap, have a look in the trade forum, might be someone there who would deal.
No doubt...but I'm in the uk :pac: (o1s1n knows me tho').

I might try and sort a 'remote' trade after Easter, as I'm off shortly. Here' some pics in the meantime, from my ex auction. Relikk, you might not have picked up the auction as I had it as uk only. That'll teach me!

Ouch, my fingers hurt, by eyes hurt and are upset at the lack of service by the eyelids during play.

Forget the 3DS causing strain, just trying to see wtf is going on here, bloody hell!

Tried playing Majoras Mask last night, can't figure what in Miyamotos going on!

Picked up Banjo Tooie in rage for 20 squids.

I cannot stress how mint the box is. It's better than most N64 games I bought new!

They've also got a few N64 games in similar condition, some still with the original seal except they were opened at the side, I'd to do a double take as I thought they were sealed.

  • Moderators, Computer Games Moderators Posts: 5,392 Mod ✭✭✭✭Optimus Prime

yeh i was in there earlier and got a megacd2 and mario64 boxed. they have a mario64 that looks unopened, the seal is a bit loose on the side. I wanted to play it though so i picked up the opened one instead for a fiver less.

Lol, it really takes a while to click, it didn't with me until I got to the first dungeon which takes a few hours, but once it does you'll love it.

A women mentioned in conversation at work she was throwing out her sons games and told me I could have them for free if i wanted them

She game me 30 games including Mario 3 for the nes - resident Evil zero for the gamecube - State of emergency and Kingdom hearts 2 for the ps2 and a mint boxed Game Genie for the gameboy

On the down side she said she actually already thrown in the bin a dreamcast and a gamecube console!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Wow not bad at all! I think im gonna try pick one in the US while im over tho. Can be had for as little as $10/15!

Anyone know what the dealeo is with the power input/adaptors?

Im fairly sure I can just replace the adaptor with an EU megadrive, but not 100%.

Should yes since the psu is external, saying that take the bios region into account, unless your playing to play ntsc games only or mod and play back up or invest in one of these- http://products.genny4ever.net/megacart_v1x.html

Game Gear is region free and runs at 60Hz, even PAL units, so no problems there.

Sounds like a ripp off charity shop lol. I've been getting all sorts of consoles for €10 or €15.

Well I went to get my 3DS today, thought I'd go to town and get my missus some stuff aswell. Got into Game inquired about the 3DS got some spiel about bundles etc. Eff that went to Smyths inquired about 3DS, again got some spiel about bundles, Eff that went back to Game, by this time I'm getting annoyed.

Asked how much the console was on its own €215 brilliant should be able to get a 3DS and 2 games for less than €300 but alas it was not to be they kept saying I needed the bundle which was €280 including a game and some piece of shít carry case. I don't think these people can add at all because when you tale €215, €45 thats equal to €260 making a rubbish case €20.
Safe to say I had to be escorted from the shop by security before I killed the staff there.

Anywho all I purchased today was Army of 2 40th Day on PSP which I didn't even want:(

I remember when Game and Gamestop where pulling the bundle **** for the 360 and discussing it and I seem to remember that forcing you into a bundle deal is illegal.

Yes it is thats what I was trying to tell them, it's not really the issue though it's the pricing structure and how it was more expensive to but in a bundle, which they couldn't understand.
Maybe they thought I was an idiot but I showed them good, right up to where I was asked to leave by 2 large gentlemen

Just flew up to HMV to try get a 3DS for €205 but the pieces of human excrement were closed, looks like it's not to be today:(
Will try again in the morning and I might even be less angry so it'll be safer for the staff of HMV

I thought I saw that in the window of Gamestop yesterday then thought I must be going mad...or it was some deal where you had to sell your soul or something.

Couldn't believe it when I read it on boards that it was that cheap, no strings. Ran up and bought one. Yay! Finally!

Far from retro but I picked up Portal 2 as part of Gamestop's 3 euro deal today and still can't decide if I made the right choice over Mortal Kombat. I know Portal is probably the better game but a game that lets you punch someone in the face and then shows an x-ray of the bones breaking is so very tempting.

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,041 ✭✭✭pdbhp

    :D

Got my 3DS today, no murders took place.
I even saw Atavan Halen and made him jelous:p
Got StreetFighter 4. Really found it hard to choose a game for it as the selection is really dire.
Roll on tonight when it's fully charged and ready to play:)

Just back from a day in the city.

Dropped into RAGE and grabbed a mint condition boxed Perfect Dark for N64 for 12.99. They had a few other things but the prices were double and triple what you could get on Ebay. I have noticed the price go up on a few things in the shop over the last month or so. Not as many bargains to be had in there as before. 50 euro for an unboxed very yellow and dirty Dreamcast with no joypads/cables or PSU was a bit much in my opinion.

Also grabbed a black 3DS and a Blue 3DS in HMV, his and hers ;0)

Its a decent deal they have @ €205 each, today is the last day of the special. Got Street fighter 4, pilotwings and rayman.

I also dropped into that new shop in grafton st, 3d games or whatever its called. Complete rip off place, madness. They did have the plushy Mario and Yoshi for €25 each, think someone was looking for one here a couple days ago but you can get them a whole lot cheaper online.

Had a look in CEX on Liffey st as well, few nice electronics bits and pieces but its not a retro shop at all really. But I will go back in to have a better look at the electronics section as the place was packed with people queueing to get to the till, so i guess they are doing well which is good to see.

Also, was waiting for my girlfriend to finish work and a couple of guys were giving this old woman a terrible time looking for money from her (girlfriend works in Focus Ireland so outside the place can be a bit wild west sometimes) so I walked up and did the hero bit(as I tend to do and I'm sure it will be the end of me one of these day) and they soon backed off. They were basically moving in slow motion anyway as they had a load of beers on/in them, and whatever else so maybe not that much of a hero move from me really :D

Basically a very good day for the soul, but not so much for the wallet :P

Twas myself looking for the Yoshi plushi but €25 is total rip off especially since they were €12.99 in Game before.
I'll get one off fleabay for €5
