these are two brands of high performance shortboards. Very difficult to learn to surf on if this is your first board.

Yeah don't go near a shortboard if you are learning, go long to begin with.

on a similar note, I have a 7'7" expoxy and am looking to drop down to a 6'8" or 6'10", the big board is just too buoyant! Just back from a surfing holiday last week and was on a 6'8" expoxy all week, would it be too much of a jump onto a fibreglass board? Even the 6'8" was a bollox to duck dive with due to the buoyancy, any help appreciated!

If you don't know what it means, you probably shouldn't have one.

If you are a beginner get and 8ft+ mini mal fibre glass or epoxy.
