Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. ArsMousePad2007_ACMM07.gifVS. tottenham_crest.jpg

    Looking forward to this one.

Fabianski, Rosicky, Traore, Vela, Walcott and Denilson are all out.

I'd expect Almunia to return in goal

    Almunia

    Sagna
    Vermaelen
    Gallas
    Clichy

    Song

    Fabregas
    Diaby

    Eboue
    Arshavin

    RVP

I'd much prefer to see Nasri in for either Diaby or Eboue but I don't know if Wenger feels ready to start him, I'm sure he'll make an appearance at some stage though.

For Spurs I know Modric, Defoe are out a Lennon possibly out?

No official team news yet but Modric, Defoe, Woodgate are all definitely out, and I expect Lennon to miss the game as well.

    Will probably line up:

    Gomes

    Corluka
    Bassong
    King
    BAE

    Bentley
    Jenas
    Palacios
    Kranjcar

    Keane
    Crouch

Though Huddlestone might play in the centre with Jenas out right.

    Will be there.

Big test of Arsenal's fighting qualities here.

Given the teams' relative positions in the league, the awful result last year in the corresponding tie, the disappointment of the West Ham result last week, and the fact that it's Spurs, Arsenal should be as geared up for this match as it is possible to be.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,934 ✭✭✭Paleface

I'm kind of worried that Bentley is in line to start as he will be well up for it against his old club and scored a cracker in the same fixture this time last year.

However I feel that result will still be in all the players minds and should provide good motivation for Arsenal to take all three points this time.

    COME ON YOU GUNNERS!!

I think Bendtner might be in contention to start ahead of Eboue.

Good shout I'd forgotten he was back

Fair play to Spurs for their start but in all seriousness if we don't win this fixture then we can/should forget about any thoughts of winning anything.

Gomes is as dodgy as any of our lot and King can hardly walk ffs.

I agree. I think this will be a real test of the team mentally, Spurs will be up for it.

Should hopefully be a good match anyway, although if Lennon is out I'd be fairly confident. Lennon on form could easily expose Clichy's lapses in concentration, so that'd be a real bonus.

Be interesting to see how the new look defence handles Crouch. big lumbering fellows like him have had more joy than they should have in the past.

I'd prefer Bendtner on the right myself. Eboué is grand, but he wont win you matches.

Feel like this one has a score draw written all over it am a bit worried tho considering we have lennon modric and defoe out they are top class when they play and would all be in the starting 11

Diaby and Eboue (when ring wing) are liabilities. I'd HATE to see these start.

I'd even play Eastwood ahead of Diaby after seeing him play one Carling Cup match.

Arshavin has been quiet and letargic since the International, hopefully he'll hit form tomorrow.

    C'mon the Arsenal!

I get the feeling Arsenal will have just about too much quality for Spurs.

I'm heading over to London tonight for this game tomorrow but still haven't gotten tickets for it sorted :(

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,153 ✭✭✭everdead.ie

Well redknapp has confirmed bently will start hopefully he has a few goals in him and with crouch starting at least he'll get good service.
That said hopefully we won't do the long ball thing again because it's really plain and simply not working.

Gomes is not dodgy any more. He had an awful start to the season last year but since then he's been pretty good, bordering on excellent. This season he has been excellent. Agree about the King remark though - such as shame.

I'm not expecting anything from this as Arsenal are just too quick for us without Lennon/Modric/Defoe to counter. 3 - 0 to Arsenal.

Should be a great game with lots of goals! Hopefully more for Arsenal than Spurs. I think last years 4-4 match is still fresh in the minds of the arsenal players, they should be fired up for this one! Huge match for both sides but Arsenal should win this. Afaik Wenger has never lost a home north london derby.

Diaby is the weak link for Arsenal. Better off if they took outside and shot him in the leg rather let him kit out. Cant wait for Nasri to be back.

Think Bendtner will start to combat crouch's height from set pieces.

its gonna be a cracker of a game, cant wait! come on you spurs!!!

    why?You mean Bently?

Nah a lot of people in the crowd wave mobile phones at him, for a reason that would get me banned.

I assume there will be much more of it than usual tomorrow!

And the spuds to release another DVD of a draw match :D

I love this match every year, always entertaining. Going for an Arsenal win cos the spuds are missing a trio of quality players.

    COME ON THE GOOONERS

Last years equalivent fixture was one of the best games ever. Please be something similar

Getting excited now, delighted my match is late today as I actually get to see this :D

I can't see it being as much of a goal fest as last season, but I reckon we will have too much for spurs, especially at home. 2 - 1. RvP and Arshavin. Spurs hit back with 20mins to go for another nervy as hell finish!

Expected, but I'd much prefer either Nasri or Ramsey in there...

    Diaby??? Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!! Good lord...

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,283 ✭✭✭Smegball

Diaby has been mainly awesome this season I thought.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 23,570 ✭✭✭✭Frisbee

Looking on the bright side we don;t know which Diaby will turn up.

Today it could be the insane ninja skillz Abou...

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,778 ✭✭✭✭Kold

Would've loved this to have come at any different time. I think that we're missing our 4 best players in Modric, Defoe, Woodgate and Lennon. With those 4 I reckon we could win, without them I'll be happy to get a point but fear a defeat.

Robbie has looked slow. Crouch seems to be getting fouled nonstop and the refs don't seem to care. Jenas has 1 superb game for every 9 games where he does f*ck all. Our defence is actually alright surprisingly. Am hoping Bentley steps up today. Prove yourself lad.

Lets just hope the right Diaby turns up today.

Bentley lucky to still be on the pitch. He'll score the winner now. Roll on more ref bashing this week.

Lots of possession from Arsenal, but no cutting edge so far.

Lots of possession from Arsenal, but no cutting edge so far.

Spurs have frustrated them so far. Not allowing them to play. Game is a bit scrappy.

Not sure why Assou-Ekotto wasn't booked there.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,148 ✭✭✭✭Raskolnikov

By the way, why is Keane on the wing? He's doing nothing there.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,778 ✭✭✭✭Kold

God I'd love to see Lennon and Modric playing, giving us some pace.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 29,132 ✭✭✭✭Quazzie

It looks like the Spuds are all set up to defend and try hit us on the counter attack or from a set piece.

ref better grow a pair or something nasty will happen.
