Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

As much as I loved the first two games, does anyone else feel Banjo was the laziest character design Rare came up with?
It looks like they just slightly altered the Donkey Kong model...

  • Moderators, Category Moderators, Computer Games Moderators Posts: 51,886 CMod ✭✭✭✭Retr0gamer

Yep. All Rare's games were a bit too saccharine for my tastes. They were trying way too hard to be cute and likable and forgot personality. Thought the first Banjo had some very poorly designed levels but apart from them it was the closest anyone got to toppling Mario 64. Tooie though had a lot of the problems DK64 had.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 30,123 ✭✭✭✭Star Lord

Tooie was still massively more playable and enjoyable than DK64 ever was though. (At least for me it was!)

So which of you generous people leaving from the city will have free spaces in your transportation devices?

I will happily pay towards cumbostible fluids.

Myself and fellow peasant Mr Vestek will be looking to hitch a ride.

Oisín are you heading to this one bro?

Yeah I'd really like to pop along, if someone has a spare seat and happens to be passing through the city centre on the way back :)

I reckon I could grab the 2am Nightlink to Bray.

I'll be going from the west siiii-ide, as Mr. A. G would put it, so anyone out that way that could do with a lift, let me know.

    Hooray!
We now have a pair of projectors for the games night, thanks Kerbdog!

    So,
I have a GC, some controllers and a copy of Mario Kart Double Dash.
What we now need for awesome 8 player gloriousness is the following!

    Another Gamecube!

    More controllers!

Another copy of Mario Kart Double Dash!

    A pair of Broadband adapters!

And the appropriate cable to connect them both!

I will try to ascertain what other cabling might be needed but that should be everything.... I hope.....

Good news everyone, I picked up some absolute **** from CEX Limerick so we will be well equipped with crappy games for the night.

but not that fake capital you live in, the real capital down here in Cork! ;)
The area I live in actually has Dublin in the name funnily enough.

Myself and Mr Vestek will be lingering around the monkstown area but can head nearer to the city for a lift if needs be.

Mr Vestek mentioned if you'd like to travel with us to the lift or back you're more than welcome as you're only down the road from his practically. We could march gallantly like the Three Musketeers! :p

Will I bring up a gun for Time Crisis 4 gun for multipayer?

We'll probably have enough of things to play though.

It would be my second time in a row taking up a light gun to the beers, and posting a pic of me on the bus holding it on facebook.

One of these days i'll end up arrested! :P

I've only got one of those baby Fords that they call the "Fiesta", that may as well be "Siesta" when it comes to motorway driving. So 3 people plus me...

I'm not so sure that the pink plastic gun looks threatening enough... :D

Make that orange plastic gun, as I obviously don't know the difference between the Arcade guns and the Gcon 3...

Yep. Not sure where my copy has got to.

As long as all the MK:DD are the same region then we're fine.

    Also Wavebirds are a priority!

I can bring Pac-man and Four Swords and some GBA link up cables too anyone is interested.

We should be fine as long as nobody decides to play Rainbow Road. You guys just aren't ready for it :P

Remember to bring a router and lan cables as well!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 30,123 ✭✭✭✭Star Lord

I've at least one wavebird, maybe two.

    It's called a road, it's called a Rainbow Road
It is a road that you go...

I could always borrow a spare gigabit switch from work or indeed bring my own from my own home setup.

The one at home is 8 port I believe so 7 ports will be usable. More than enough I think.

If it's just two gamecubes, then a router isn't needed, just a crossover cable.
