Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Hi All,

Not sure if this has been covered elsewhere...

Im looking to buy a 360 but I want to make sure I get one of the newer ones, that dont have this "red ring of death". Is there any way to ensure I dont pick up an older model? Id rather not ask the staff, they may fob me off with an old one.

    Thanks.

If it's an Elite, all the new product line have a new cover with a silver as opposed to grey box, that's the first good sign anyway.

Google jasper model 360s to find out how to identify one, i think it says 12.1v or something on the back of the xbox itself, cant recall though, but there out ages so chances are if you buy new your gonna get one of these supposedly more reliable models

By buying an elite its still not certain that you could get a jasper model as the stores might still have older models in the store room, one of of making sure it is a jasper is by buying the new 250gb super elite or the resident evil 5 elite console. I would think though that you still have a good chance of getting a jasper with most elite they have in stores

Are all the new product line Jaspers though? If so you can ensure you are not getting old stock from a retailer by making sure the box is a silver colour instead of the old grey one and check if there is a HDMI cable included, if so then it is old stock.
