Buzzing gas boiler

    Has any one come across this before

    Every hour or so when the burner starts up it makes a grinding buzzing noise,it lasts between 2 and 5 seconds

    Boiler : Ideal Classic FF350

    It depends on the buzzing but most times its the electrode sparking the gas under the heat exchanger. Rule of thumb if it aint broken....

    Get a plumber to listen when s/he is serviceing

    ya sounds like your describing an electrode noise , enquire at your next service.

    do you really think so? it only lasts 2-5 sec i thought a sticking fan would be continous!

    may be the fan, when it moves slowly it may grate, once it reaches full speed it is clear of the obstruction and does not make noise, shock observers need replacing.

    It could also be the electrode as it sparks, it is either dirty or is starting to go.

    Your boiler is literally screaming at you to get it serviced,
    why don't you get it serviced?
