Good win Suppafly. I had to play WNWIM as I am playing a cup match Wednesday. Still there was a silver lining, 3 of my players popped and I had no long term injuries in the game !

I see they have reset every teams LTNT to 100% ?

That is a nightmare for me, I have been very careful using it whereas other teams have been belting away and are now fooked. Extremely lucky break for some. I reckon my cup opposition was on zero LTNT, I may have to play that way now to beat them.

    Fantastic! :pac:

My player energy levels are still **** though.

Results are up on the offsite.

I'm about 99% certain that I beat ALBA there Dave. :pac:

I'm not so sure. Perhaps we should ask the audience :D

    It's actually fixed now.

Results for round 3 are up. Match of the weeks looks to be Scorched Earth scraping past killarney to leave them neck and neck with forza juve in pool 1.

What a tough loss that was. I was up 21-17 in the 81st minute when the Earth scored a disputed try :). Ref went to the TMO but the TMO took too much time to make a decision so the Ref gave the Earth the try. He must of been from Sweden. :D

    The stats suggest otherwise. ;)

    Anyway, unlucky.

Beat The Parrish 10-3. Unlucky for the boys, seems to be quite a tight match and he obviously gave me hell... came away with three injuries.

How the cup trophies looking? :)

My Parrish 17-7 down to Daves Dangermen after 25 odd mins [somthing to distract me while Im still at work!]!

It seems a miracle that its that close tbh - as he is all over me [has 4 times my meters gained [for example]]

Its ok, using it to give young guys and subs a game, so a game is a game :)

Yeah, my reserves appear to have put on quite an attacking show. a pity my full team couldnt do that against Forza Juve on sat.

reviewing my match there and came across this little gem!
Oh, we have a streaker. Big, hairy and ugly. That one must have escaped from the zoo. OH!! Big hit by that security lady. He's not going to get up from that. There's great applause coming from the crowd as the guy is dragged off by his hair!

close win it seems, good game dead hard fcukers! came down to the kickers! (and you destroying my centres that I ended up with my reserve hooker in 1st centre!:o) oops!

whats the format once the group stages finish? is it top 2 teams in each pool go through with the top team having the home fixture against a second placed team from another group like the world cup?

Top team from each pool goes straight to a cup semi final. Second placed team from each pool goes to a semi for a 'silver' cup, and likewise with the third placed teams.

how do you decide who gets the home fixture?

    I've won a game.

    Two in a row now.

That's not how it worked last year.

Aren't all teams going to have something to play for after the group stages ?

Do you know what format and size they should be? I can give it a shot.

Do we need just 3 trophies, one for each winner of the different levels of the cup?

Well we need three different ones anyway. We could use that for the bottom rank.

Good spot jprender, I'm dead wrong. (no change there then ;))
Look here, I won't try and summarise, I'll only screw it up again:D

Just realised that the missing team is going to complicate the 'try harder trophy' knockout a little. As it stands, the 'walkover' team I created to keep the league tables happy is at the bottom of pool 4. In the normal run of things this would mean that the 5th placed team in pool 3 will get a walkover in the quarter final, and a +20 point differential toward home advantage in the semi.

I think that giving the walkover to the best qualifier (ie the 5th place team with the highest points) would be fairer, but it would complicate things a bit more.

Orizio, do you want to make a ruling on this?

Was a cracking game Johnny... initially I thought I would win narrowly but was holding my breath for the last 5 mins!

Did you specifically agree to a WNWIM agreement with this person prior to the match?

I lost my game 15-31 against XaviXI. I had to play most of my second string guys almost as the first teams energy was only on fit/sprightly and I also needed to get my LTNT back up again

i think we'll need a rematch sometime in future to get a winner! 0-0 at half time and then went 12-0 down! i was lucky to get draw at end. definitely one of the more entertaining games ive had on here.

Quite happy to be in the "Almost there" yokey, tis a step up from the Try Harder last time. Though.... not very happy with some of the other "Try Harder" teams, some pretty damn tough competition there and just when my league situation is desperate :(

How did you decide who is ranked where? The first ranked person should be the team with the most points, the second ranked person the team with the second most points and so on. Surely its fairer that way?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,460 ✭✭✭Orizio

So for example, looking just at 'The Champions Cup' play-offs, the rankings based on highest to lowest points should be...

    1. Daves Dangerman
    2. Scorched Earth
    3. Everyone Likes A Tryer
    4. Munster Mark II

    5. Bogwarriors
    6. Forza Juve
    7. XaviXV
    8. Yermen

Then it would 1 vs 8, 2 vs 7 and so on. Or am I confusing myself?

No, you are correct. I used this system for the try harder trophy, to allow for the missing team. For the other playoffs, I used the original system:
    http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=2055596303

Give me a nod, and i'll change the other playoffs to the rankings system you have outlined above.
