Please double check any times & dates you see on this thread. Although I will endeavour to make sure they are all correct and right, I did once make a mistake about something back in 1997 and so, although unlikely, it could happen again :)

North by Northwest on the big screen. Wouldn't mind seeing that.
Might make an effort to try and go see it next week.

    Thanks for the info Pete.

    From http://thescreencinema.blogspot.com/2010/04/play-it-again-sam_19.html

We haven't played any classics in a while because there has been so many great films out but you have demanded we bring them back so let's make it happen. First you have to tell us what films you want, whether it's Silent films, Classic Hollywood, 80's blockbusters or Experimental Welsh Sheep films, it's up to you.

Simply tell us your choice on Twitter, Facebook, email info@screencinema.ie or put your suggestion in the voting box in the Screen’s lobby. The films with the most votes will be played as part of our ‘Play it again Sam’ summer season.

Feel free to vote as many times as you want, God and the Screen loves a trier.

I know someone mentioned earlier that Screen were looking for suggestions on twitter but this is just a reminder as Summer is only next month so get voting for your favourites!!

You can also vote by email/facebook. :)

ps please vote for 2001 :)

Woody Allen season coming up in the IFI next month apparently.

Yup, times and films for the first part of the Allen retrospective (lasting three months apparently ).

Have seen the majority of them - haven't got around to Interiors or Stardust Memories yet, though they aren't amongst his best - but a few of my favourites in there, including my personal favourite Woody Allen film Purple Rose of Cairo.

Darn. I'm out of the country for the Manhattan screenings. Would love to see that on the big screen.

THere are a bunch of classics on in Cineworld in May too...

Though I use the term classics loosely.

    Sleepy Hallow
    Iron Giant
    Who Framed Roger Rabbit
    Corpse Bride
    Bugsy Malone (a personal favourite!)

And I think one or two others.

    Iron Giant? That's fantastic.

    EDIT: Here's the list here:

Secret of Nimh is there as well... cool.

This thread is kinda turning into the mutual agreement thread with the three of us thanking each other all the time :D

It's also a bit of a race to see who can post here first when they hear about something.. ha.

Well, I tend to only post stuff on Thursday nights as I find people don't really know what they are gonna do till the weekend is upon them.

Plus, posting a screening to early can mean it's buried in the thread.

No harm though, sure we can always repost it closer to date as a reminder.

I really hope The Swan shows those movies soon, otherwise why waste people's time with the Poll.

The Screen certainly showed a cracking selection last year.

Expect this year will be as good, sound people there behind the scenes.

Yep. Hoping the IFI will up their game on the classics front as well now.

That essential cinema season was a big success for them. Was so packed one evening they had to bring seats in from the bar.

I might be interested in going to see sleepy hollow in the cinema. I wish there more cinemas playing classic movies.

    I'll say, Corpse Bride?

That said, the link you posted contained Turtle: The Incredible Journey which looks class. I'll keep an eye on that one.
