Excel is making me feel stupid. Help?

    My cells won't update in excel (2007). I'll try explain;
    if A1 =2
    and B1 = 2
    and C1 = A1 + B1

    the initial answer I get is 4

    but if I then change A1 to say 3 the value in C1 does not change to 5, it stays at four, even though the formula still reads A1 + B1.

    Any ideas? I can only assume it's a trivial problem but I can't find the setting to rectify it.

    thanks all

    Office Button->Excel Options->Formulas.

    Make sure the 'calculation' mode is set to 'Automatic'.

    Thanks very much. Lazy me decided to ask boards before looking down through options. Cheers again.
