Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I have the Canon 50D on my wish list - the reason being is that my brother has one also and we can share lens so I hope there is method to my madness. Having had a play with my brother's 50D I have to say I liked it a lot.

However, is there a certain time of the year which is the best to buy? Just wondering will the prices go mad now in the run up to Christmas or should I wait till the new year. I am waiting in my grant which I know will be paid early Dec - so would I better off waiting till the new year?

    Any advise greatly appreciated.

If you were considering buying from the UK now is probably a good time, sterling is weak and there is a possibility ( or even certainty) that VAT over there will go back up again in their budget in early December.

On a more general point waiting for months to save 5% in something you are going to use consistently never seems to be sensible, the opportunity cost lost never seems to equal the saving, buy as keenly as you can on the day.

You are not tied to the 50D you can just about any Canon and your brothers lenses will work.
