I am gonna start my first build and i was wondering if these parts where ok. i wont be doing any gaming apart from football manager, otherwise it will only really be used for browsing.

Any help would be great, i have a hd already

That board only takes DDR3 memory but you have selected DDR2 memory.

You could probably save a bit of cash on the Motherboard, this is a decent budget AM3 board, will do everything that you need for 25 quid less. Any reviews I have read have been pretty positive.

OP what exactly will you be doing on this pc.

If it's nothing intensive then you'd be better off with a bottom of the range dell!

Actually Effluo has a good point unless you have a few other parts hanging around, OP are there any other old parts that you intend to reuse or is it just the HD?

I have all the other parts (case, hard drive, dvd drive etc.) it will be used for browsing , FM and using CS4 occasionally(but this could be used a lot in future). I want to get a decent computer now so i dont have to replace it again soon and 1 that can be upgraded easy enough if i decide i want to do anything more strenuous with it (gaming). I think the Ram is compatible with the board, im not sure about the graphics card though. this is where i wanted the advice, i know very little about graphics cards. i dont want or need a good graphics card just something basic enough

That card is fine with that board

CS4 does not do well with AMD chips

You'd be better off with a fast Intel C2D dualie.
Also CS4 is ram eater so look at 4gigs rather than just 2.

The cheapest gpu you can get is the best one for you. If i were you i'd actually get a matx board with onboard gpu

Oops, I don't know what I was at last night but that RAM is indeed DDR3 :o

What about a case or power supply?

In any case if you're on a tight budget get a fast C2D. If you want futureproofing you're kinda stuck with i5, which results in a HUGE price jump :(

As ive said already i have the case, psu, hard drive etc. I dont really have the budget to go for i5 thats why i was going for the AM3. What problems exactly does it have with cs4?

What type of psu do you have it's very important. Give the exact make or spec

This is the case i have, it has a 450w psu which i am presuming is ok.

    oh dear...

I'm afraid that won't power much and anything it does will be very inefficient!
