    Hi all,
I saw the car below this morning & it got me thinking about what the reasons might be to register this new car here as opposed to elsewhere. The VRT on this car is 36%, probably much more anywhere else, as can be seen below it has a significant effect on price:
The new price here for a bog standard Cayenne auto is € 75,222, in the US it is $ 45,500.00 or €30,798.90 EUR*.

Mywheels.ie puts it as registered in Feb 2009 (well tax is up in Feb 2010) so it was less than 1 month old when imported so presumably it was hit for full VAT & VRT.

Is there a way a vehicle can be temporarily be registered here that the VAT & VRT can be recovered?

It is a Porsche Cayenne, that appears to be US spec, I say this because it was LHD & had red indicators & had orange front parking lights. So I could be wrong on that one but it seemed the most logical.

Just thought it was an interesting one.

I know a guy(start of every great lie )* who ordered a LHD X5 From Florida and collected the vehicle in Germany.

    He saved around €28K
