Brian isn't doing Conn. He's too chicken.
He makes bet's after a few beers and then has to buy out of them.

Call me old fashion but why do you always want to gamble on races?

One of these days someone is going to badly burn you in the gambling stakes.

No bribe needed, he'll probably be doing that anyway :pac:

Ah no, i have to wait and get him on his blind side about 500 yards from the finish and put the hammer down.

He never saw me in Raheny but he saw me coming at the Simon 5 last year so the crowd will assist me in my plans to get by him (much evil laughter by me):D

    Saturday 16th July
Jogged up to the Park with RQ (3.5 miles). Met Metamorphosis up at the start and did a 1.5 mile warm up
before getting in at the front of wave 2 with Raycun. The plan for the race was just a tempo run. I wanted to hold the planned pace for the 10mile race to see how it felt (33'55). I had expected to see chinguetti, gerard and a few others at the front of wave 2. As soon as the race was of I soon understood why they changed their minds :p after half a mile we hit a group of about 16 women hand in hand across the entire road. I managed to spy a gap but a few minutes later hit a mas of humanity and spent the entire run dodging everyone and looking for gaps. Still the race went fine and I managed to hit 33.57 on the garmin. I left myself a bit too much to do on the Kyber (I had to hi about 6.57 to win my bet) and I had to stop breifly to let some of my breakfast up :o Drinking a bottle of wine the night before probably didn't help. Anyways 5 miles in 33'57 (6'46 pace).
I did a 1.7 mile cooldown after the race with Brian and Ral 3 so 11.7 miles total for the day

    Sunday
The plan said 18, but I had as many pints as miles yesterday so it was always unlikely. despite the group run being postponed to 12, I was still in ribbons. Met up with JCSmum Aimman, Chinguetti and Brian. I was happy to call it a day when the others quit after doing a recce of the 10 mile course.

    10.3 miles @ 9'17 pace

I'll try to get my 18 done tomorrow.

Not as big a lightweight as Brian. He had to skip a round at least twice and went home early.

Methinks that working life is not doing well for his drinking abilities :pac:

To be fair to Meno when i got out of the car today, he looked terrible so its a far achievement he could run that far at all.

He mightn't be a lightweight yet but he's could be moving down a division alright:D

18.2 miles. Pace 8'26 (av HR 144). Had to get up nice and early for this one against my wishes. plan was to meet Mr Slow in the park for 11 so I left at 10.30 to run the 3.5 miles up to meet him. We did a nice handy 12 miles together before I headed back home and he headed for the car. Really enjoyable run. I was a bit worried I'd suffer today due to recent mileage and not having done any long runs since Cork, but it was fine and very comfortable throughout.

I'm heading up to Belfast on Friday to help out at the 24hr Race, So I might not get this weeks Long run done at the weekend. I am considering doing it on Wednesday now. The only problem is it's a pace run 17 w/ 10@PMP  Hopefully lots of rest between now and then and I'll be fine for it.

Thats great pacing for a LSR, give us a shout if you're doing any easy runs on Wednesday mornings while you're off - except this Wednesday, obviously.

Well, if you fancy doing the easy 7 before the 10 MP miles, let me know.

I shall consider it, I'm hoping to try out this 'racing' lark you all go on about on Thursday evening though so it might just be a very easy 4 or so on Wednesday.

After yesterdays crap run I was a bit worried about todays session. The warm up seemed to confirm those fears. 5.1 miles @ 8'49. Hip and left knee felt sore. HR was also too high for this pace (143). I was basically making excuses not to do the PMP part....anyways had a sip of water, took a gel and changed in the Kinavaras (hoping to wear thes in Berlin) and hit off on my PMP miles.

The first two felt crappy but I dug in and after 4 or so I felt like I was cruising. Finished out the session with no real difficulty. 10 miles in 72 minutes (7'11 Pace). The Av HR (163) is still about 8pm higher than what i would want ti to be in Berlin, but it is 3 bpm lower overall than the 8 PMP I did two weeks ago and significantly the last two miles of today were in line with the total average (161 and 163) as opposed to the last day were the last two miles were a struggle and I was maxing out (both were 170 bpm I think). So over all a great session.

I stopped for a quick stretch then slowly jogged back to the car. 1.7 miles @ 8'37 pace. Much faster than it felt :D

Total for the day 16.8 miles. Nice to get the Bulk of this weeks training done so early in the week. The Joys of not having to work!!
