looking for a pair of IEM's that have a microphone and controls for the iphone.

    i have a 3G S so i don't need a skinny jack.

    was thinking these

    http://www.amazon.co.uk/Ultimate-Ears-Super-fi-5vi-compatible/dp/B001L2WOZK/ref=sr_1_5?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1257202241&sr=8-5

or does anyone have any other recommendations?

seriously i've done one 50 minute bus journey with the stock earphones and i was so close to putting them on the ground and stomping on them. they leak sound sooo badly.

8 euro. They are for the 3gs, are in-ear and have inline mic with play/pause button. Sound is excellent.

but that was only 9 years ago...

Nah, I suppose I just added the comment in the hope that someone else might have some feedback on "Lugs". Seems like I don't have the 'longevity kudos' with Boards yet to start a thread of my own, so I have to piggyback on others subject matter for the moment!

Have you ever used Ultimate Ears before? I have a set of Super Fi 5s. And without doubt they were the most uncomfortable ear phones I have ever experienced. I strongly advise checking prior to getting them if you have not. I used mine no more than 10 times... waste of 180 notes.. I know comfort is very subjective but still..

And all the reviews I've come across on the web give Ultimate Ears, and the whole JHAudio stable, the highest recommendations...... And not cheap.. They'd want to be good. Shame it hasn't worked out for you. I'm gathering that yours were not customised / moulded to your specific ear shape?

They're so intent of good reviews and their reputation, it might be worth your while getting on to them and making the complain - they may have a remedy, or a discount on a customised pair for you ???

I'll probably start a new thread about my journey into the world of IEM's and detail how I get along, as this thread started nearly 10 years ago!

I know, I know :) They weren't customised at all, straight out of box I actually found a thread and took some advise from there to try remedy the situation but to be honest I just gave up. At this stage I have moved on to Blutooth cans and they're just wonderful Lesson learned for me and my delicate ears! haha :D

That rule is in place for people like you who want to pimp products in three separate forums.

Thanks Dades, for the gratuitous slap down....you kind soul you...
Boards.ie is lucky to have invigilators such as you to make sure us n'ere-do-wells don't loose the run of ourselves.

Had you done me the courtesy of asking me, I'd have denied any knowledge or fiduciary arrangement with the promoters of Lugs.
Meaning, I'm not pimping my or anyone else products.

But you've assumed, accused and got it wrong, notwithstanding your esteemed 5 star merit.....

With such delicate guidance as yours, I'll learn fast....
