Anyone else here today that Bruce Springsteen had been confirmed? Would much rather have the Boss than KOL.

Lets have a Monsters of Slane from,
    AC/DC
    GNR
Van Halen, if they tour Europe
    Chickenfoot
    Them Crooked Vultures.
    Aerosmith
    Whitesnake

I like your thinking.....but we'd have to have subs :p

as the knowledeable musicmania said Whitesnake are definitely out.......not touring at all in 2010 according to Coverdale......

Would love to see Van Halen at anything, but were they to play it Chickenfoot would be out......so swap in Faith No More would fit in nicely and .........lets see.......

    Iron Maiden
    Heaven & Hell
    Alice In Chains
    Motley Crue
    Alice Cooper

all touring the festivals this year......actually there's always a Sonisphere type setup as a possibility.....

Sorry, don't have one. My family are from Slane and apparently thats what they've heard today but I can't find anything on the net and thats why I was wondering if anyone else had heard anything similar.

Would love if it was Bruce but would he sell out Slane after playing the RDS 5 times in a year. Would still go

More chance of The Beatles turning up......there's no E Street Band for the next couple of years, as confimed by Little Steven.

And anyway, it's now March and there's no album slated for release this year.

Let's just file this under, ermm, total bollloxx?

We have also had U2 and The Rolling stones headline since 2000.....
    .

Obviously Im aware of that , but they are repeats ... so I didn't bother listing .....

I usually give people the benefit of doubt when it comes to knowing who headlined Slane and in what year , I didn't feel the need to be as anally pedantic.

Anybody seen the new video to 'Shoot to thrill'? It's just reminded me of how good they were in the O2 and Punchestown. Image the cannon's going of at the end of the gig with the back drop of Slane castle.

Ah here's hoping and praying. Fingers, toes etc all crossed.

Also if the Boss does turn out to be headline then i'll be going but as said before, there is no E street band at the moment so this will be unlikely to be ture.

Yeah I can't imagine that Bruce will play Slane without The E Street Band and he has always said that no E Street without Clarence so until his back is sorted there will be no stadium tours. While I LOVE all of Bruces music his other music wouldn't suit a venue like Slane.
While I'm not a fan of ACDC as it is too heavy for me I'd rather they were headliners than KOL as I think their dedicated fanbase here deserve it.

Also RayCon the reason I stated that U2 & The Rolling Stones had headlined wasn't that I thought you had forgot but to simply state that this century wasn't as bad as you made out. I don't think that they had headlined before was relevant and if U2 headlined again I'd be there in an instant.

Was just thinking, are the Foo Fighters touring europe this summer at all? They could be a contender as a good qaulity support act for somebody.

They are good live but don't think they'd sell out as headliners although with the right line up they might.

I think the Foos have taken a break for a while. Dave is touring with the vultures this summer........so its possible to see him at slane!

I think what he meant was his non e street band stuff wouldn't be great in Slane, which has to be said is probably true.

Who wants to hear an old man sing 'we shall overcome' or 'my city of ruins', when you can get 'The heart-stopping, pants-dropping, house-rocking, earth-shaking, booty-quaking, Viagra-taking, love-making -
Le-gen-dary E - Street - Band!' doing 'Dancing In The Dark' or 'Born to Run'.

    Great post.

Apart from the DITD part - only Bruce song I actually dislike intently

    Have a t-shirt that says heart-stopping, pants-dropping, house-rocking, earth-shaking, booty-quaking, Viagra-taking, love-making -
    Le-gen-dary E - Street - Band
    ! btw :D

I hope Bruce resurrects the Seeger Sessions band. An O2 gig would be awesome.

Slane is just too big and too much of a booze fest. I enjoyed the Stones a few years ago but there are only a very limited number of bands, Bruce and McCartney for e.g., that I would bother going there to see.

Yeah I'd like him to resurrect The Seeger Sessions band too or even a solo acoustic tour. How amazing would that be in Vicar Street....... Ok time to wake up from that dream :pac:

Is there absolutely any chance of Chili Peppers playing it? Whats the deal with LMC saying something about a 'red hot' secret?

it think the “Red Hot” metaphor could be referencing kings of leon with “sex is on fire “.

Rumour Guns N Roses will be headling Leeds/Reading on the weekend of 27/28/29 Aug 2010.

Slane 2010 is to be on Saturday 28th Aug. So Maybe Guns N Roses will headline Slane 18 years later again.

Whose to say we couldn't have a repeat of 1992, Faith No More are announcing a lot of festival dates bringing them up to the end of July and Guns N Roses are tipped to be included in Leeds
