Trains - Airfix type build

I've been looking around on-line without much success...

Is it possible to get kit built model trains similar to Airfix planes/tanks/ships?

I've a small collection of Bachmann/heljan/hornby trains but would like a larger scale model to self build...

Any help appreciated

Website has a few small Dapol kits alright but these are only 00 scale. Looking for something a little bigger tbh. May go in and have a look anyway.
