Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Hi,

Any help with the minefield that is PRSI would be appreciated.

Self Employed spouse (female) employs her husband from 1995-2009, what class of PRSI should the husband of paid and would this entitle him to any state pension benefits.

    Many thanks

If husbands earnings were below €500 p/wk Class M prsi would apply. If above €500, Class K.

If the wrong PRSI code was used the PRSI paid can be refunded through the SCOPE section of www.welfare.ie.

The husband would not be entitled to the state pension. What should have been done in this case was the husband and wife should have registered as a partnership, thereby both would pay Class S prsi and both be entilted to state pension.

I assume that they are already at pension age. If still below 55 years of age I would register them as a partnership and get the contributions going. You need 10 years contributions

    Regards,
    Michael

Thanks Michael, you are correct the male is at pensionable age. Thanks for the information, will have to investigate further with Scope regarding any refunds.
