    If you cross any colour lab with another colour lab (or any pure breed dog for that matter) you will get either one colour or the other. If you mix black with golden, the pups will either be black or golden - not a funky mix of the two. Often, mum and pups can be a different colour due to the fathers genes or recessive genes in the mother.
