Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Happy enough, controlled the game and created chances.

Please oh please Rafa take Voronin off.

"I like seeing Voronin play. It gives me hope that I might one day play in the Champions League."

    lol... deadly quote...

damn my tongue in cheek prediction that the Vorinator would get a brace seems a little far fetched....

Poor Torres doesn't look to be movin too freely...
    Benny is havin a mare..

the more times i watch Insua, the more faults i find with him...

the ref is havin a laugh though.....

All in all I think it has been a satisfactory performance from the Reds. Defence have been fairly tidy with the exception of Insua. Lucas and Masch are definitely winning the midfield battle and are avoiding gifting the opposition possession. Benny is showing a lot of creativity and using the ball well. Kuyt is working hard too not creating much. Voronin, as per usual, is utterly depressing to watch. He has to come off quick smart. Torres hasnt been the best. It's apparent he's not in the best shape but in fairness to Lyon's defense they are doing a great job on him. I think if we raise our game another 10% we should have enough to win it. I can see a typical Agger run from the back creating a goal for us.

Insua did well going fowards, Yossi is doing as well as he can from the left.

Voronin needs to come off asap. Hope Rafa doesnt give him another 15 minutes like I suspect he will. What is the point ? He has miscontrolled everything, underhit every pass and hasnt put a good delivery in from three set piece attempts. He also passed the ball directly at the keeper when one on one.

The shocking thing is, is that Benayoun is playing left wing so that Voronin can play centrally =/

On the positive side of things, its been a good performance in general. Insua is playing well, as is Lucas, which is good to see.

Torres is not fit, doing an ok job at about 70%.

Liverpool going to win this handy lads, never fear. Lyon are terrible tonight, they really are and they've had their fair share of injuries now as well.

i smell the ultimate sucker punch in the last minute, remember both lyon subs scored the last day at anfield

Voronin makes me wish that Vladimir Smicer was back in the squad, and I never thought I'd ever feel that way!

Ok, so far Voronin has proven tonight that he is no good at:

    Passing
    Crossing from set pieces
    Positional sense
Beating keeper on one and one situations
    Defending and tackling.

How, in the name of all that is holy does Rafa still have him on the pitch.

I can only assume that Rafa likes his hair!

Yup, they're showing absolutely no ambition here. Pretty silly considering they're at home against a team in its biggest slump of the decade, decimated by injuries and on the brink of elimination from the tourmanemt. If they went for the jugular they'd have a great chance of taking the group, but as it is they're giving Liverpool every chance of snatching a winner and will deserve it when it happens.
