Lost Passport!

Hi there,
I stupidly lost my passport at the weekend here in Melbourne! (Its my only ID over here)
Wondering how long it takes to get another one?
Also anyone familar with the procedure involved? reporting it etc

Going to give it a few days before i report it as it could turn up somewhere! Fingers crossed!!!

Also as its my only ID, is there any other form of ID i can get over here ?
( I'v no drivers licence )

takes 6-8 weeks using the normal method
and I think you can get an express one - but not sure on dates

It would probably be quicker to post the application home to Ireland and get it sent to your home address to be forwarded to you. Passport express is 10 days in Ireland? This happens quite a lot and it should serve as a warning that a passport is not something you should be taking out boozing. VIC roads may have different policies but NSW will not give you a proof of age card without a passport unless you were born in NSW. You may have to wait until you get it back for ID unless you have a Driving Licence.
