Id say i need another braket to push it up.As when it rains it meets in the middle and the rain just pours over the side. Now i have tried a few places but they all say they only install new pvc gutters for houses, I have tried 4 handy men who dont turn up then dont bother returning my calls. Does anyone no of some one who can look and repair gutters some one that will actually go and take a look any ones adcice be great

How old are the gutters? As each of them are different you would need to find out the manufacturer. Do you have a picture of the profile so we can advise further.

This is ridiculous. Did I hear recently that there is a recession on? The dole is paying out too much for some to bother.
Did you try the small ads in the northside people? Usually reliable types advertising in there...

Sounds like this needs alot more than just a bracket. It's probably pitched wrong so the water isn't flowing out of it which would of caused it to fill up and dip in the first place. If this is the problem and someone just puts a bracket on it, it will just move the problem else where or the water will jump out of the gutters when it rains.

Also be careful of who you get, I used to do this part time with another guy and most of the repair jobs we went out to had several people try and fix the problem with some bodge job which will hold just long enough for them to get down the road in the van €50 richer. Theres also a problem with getting spares for jobs, as this problem has come about after only a year I have a feeling they've put cheap stuff on your house that could of been bought anywhere (bringing it down by the van load from the North is common) and they won't be able to go down to the local store and get a bracket.

I have had someone come out and look.
What he wants to do is put in 2 new brackets and alo pull it back with wire by lifeing up a tile from the roof, and pull the wire tight around the beam,it seems next door down pipe is a bit to high as well.
Wouls this work i have never heard of useing wire to pull back a gutter before.

Sounds like a bodge job by someone who doesn't know what they're doing, if the proper brackets are used and put up right there would be no need for any wire.

I assume you're gutters flow into the neighbours down pipe so. If thats too high no amount of messing with your gutters can fix the underlying problem, water won't flow up hill. Your options are to have someone take down the gutters and re pitch them to run into the down pipe, but the gutters/pipe on your neighbours might be too high to run into them. If this was the case you'd have to get someone to redo them the whole way across

Or you can get someone to install a down pipe on your side, but this could run into problems depending on who manufactures the gutter. If its some no name brand people won't be able to get fittings for it and they won't want to touch it.

Anyone reputable should be giving you solutions like that, if they're just looking to fix the drooping gutter and not showing you these problems I'd run them.

Yes the gutter flows into the neighbours down pipe, it dont look that hight to me i think i let him do this and get all the front redone after xmas and hope that it it works until then, but lifting up a tile seems odd.Havent got much choice at the moment.
So in the new year i get the front redone with a good quilty pvc guttering,id say to do the front it cost no more than 400 euro well i hope .

Lifting a tile should be fine as long as he remembers to pull it back down, the bottom row of them isn't nailed down.

Make sure you're getting a brand name gutter when you get them done. MFP Supreme, Hunter and Osma are the brands I'd reccomend. Only ones we'd ever work with and the ones we'd rarely have to go repair.

I have well i think they them big heavey concrete tiles not the slate ones, dont no if the bottom is nailed down on them tiles i have.
But thanks for the advice, im hopeing this guy at least fix it to the new year carnt afford a new gutter this close to xmas,
One thing i have learned is it pays to make sure good stuff is used.
If anyone nos of any good gutter instalion guys pm me there info.

hi - your gutters need to be taken down & re fitted using the right fixings . what has happened i would say is the fixing has pulled put of the fascia allowing the gutter to kink . let me know if i can help you any further as we fit these for a living

If he lifts a tile and tries to put a wire through tied to a rafter he will have to penetrate the lining on the underside of the roof, lading to the possiblity of leaks. I can't imagine a situation where a gutter needs to be tied up with a wire:confused:

If he is suggesting using wire to support the gutter "you have the wrong man for the job i'm afraid"
At the moment you have no problems with your roof ,Keep it that way.
Anyone who suggests wire supports for your gutter should have the dog escort them to the gate.
You are better off getting someone who knows what they are doing,
Have them remove the gutter from the fascia board completly, whatever mounting brackets are used, Rehang them and maybe put in and additional hanger or two.Reinstall the gutter making sure it is correctly aligned to insure the correct flow of water. It should not be that expensive.
