    Hi Guys,

My old DLP blew at the weekend so I'm looking for a replacement.
    My reqs are as follows.
    42-46" (old TV was 46")
LCD or Plasma (I don't know which is better and I really don't care)
    Black blacks
    High refresh rate (3-400Hz)
    Vivid colours
    Decent stock speakers
    3 HDMI, Component etc.
No need for SD readers, USB or BB connectivity.
Freeview tuner built in would be a nice extra (as I can pick up FV from the north) but not essential.

    Budget €700-1000

    Any recommendations ?

    Thanks,
    Pat.

    Pat,

Thanks a million for the post & Apologies for the delay in getting back to you.

I have a few interesting options!

    1. LG 50PQ6000 - (ok so it's a little big!) This is a beautiful Plasma which is a 600HZ jobbie and has that 'slice of glass' cosmetic which is really sexy - we sell this at £699.95 and I can include the 5 year warranty at that price!

Alternatively we have just reduced excellent Philips 47PFL5604H to €999.99 and with your Philips Shop Boardie discount that comes to just €899.99 AND we include a free 2 year warranty at that price - this unit is LCD, Full HD is Freeview & MPEG4 and (I know you don't need it) has USB input - it also has PC connectivity and it sounds completely amazing compared to most other LCD's!

Again apologies for the delay in getting back to you and drop me a line if we can assist in any way,

    ATB,

    John Mc & Crew

No worries John and thanks for the reply.

The LG only appears to be 50Hz and is just 720p. I'm really after a Full HD set...sorry, should've said).

As for the Philips...I'd prefer to go for something more like an 8-series.

Have you anything like the Panasonic TXP42G10 for example ?
