    Hello,
Anyone know how to go about getting a death cert?
I see you can apply for the general registars office to post you one (http://www.groireland.ie/), but it does say on their site that the local registars office is likely to be much quicker.
I've found out there is one in Cork city(on Adelaide Street). Has anyone gone to this office, is it quick, how much does it cost etc.?
The GRO takes about a week or two to send out your cert I believe and it costs 10 euro.

Or does someone know of another way to get it, apparently our family never recieved a death cert in the first place for this person.

    Cheers

I got a Birth Certificate from Adelaide Street a couple of years, I think it took about 40 mins, should be the same for a Death Cert if you have all the details; full name, address, Date of Birth and Date of Death.

To avoid waiting, it is easier to write in to the local office with a bank draft. I think it might be €10.55, but a phone call will set you straight.

If the person had been sick and attending their GP at the time or in hospital their GP will be able to issue it.
