Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

As far as I am aware, United and Liverpool didn't agree to the poppies. All 18 other Prem teams did.

burnley were not wearing poppies yesterday

terrible from Rooney with Anderson free in the middle

Can't watch the match so just reading the live update on sky sports centre.
Seems that chelsea are really dominating the game.

Is that a true reflection of the game and who is switched off for united in that case???

Rooney being selfish for once! Who'd a thunk?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 3,604 ✭✭✭Kev_ps3

Prob a goal if Rooney bothered to pass it:rolleyes:

Jesus our decision making in the final third is ridiculous. Should be 2 up imo

Man Utd have dominated the majority but Chelsea coming into it more over the last 10-15 minutes or so.

Disgrace that the ref only stops the game when chelsea lose possession. Should either have been stopped immediately or let play on. This ref is a disgrace.

    That's ridiculous refereeing.

I wouldnt say that, chances have been for both teams but its very tight in midfield. Neither team is dominating but I get the feeling that tiredness will change that over time. There'll only be a goal in it

    ouchies.

Typical reffing though, didn't stop it when they were in possession, no head injury, United in possession, then he stops it. Just silly. All we're ever looking for is some bloody consistancy.

Jesus christ how was that not a foul? Lampard tried to push him out to the car park!!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,785 ✭✭✭killwill

Valencia clearly pushed off the ball there.

Utd have become very sloppy in the last ten, Chelsea getting a lot of possession and crosses in.

playing against 12 men. Its tough.

Though United were marginally the better team in that half.

Im much more optimistic now than I was. Still like to see giggs actually compose himself on the ball and sort out his passing.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 20,617 ✭✭✭✭PHB

Evans playing a stormer, as is Anderson and Fletcher. Giggs isn't offering much currently and I think he's tiring. We could lose him for Obertan I think in an attacking sub around the 60th/70th, especially if we go behind.

Tight game, but I'm happy from a United point of view. Ref annoyed me there with two decisions but overall it's been a solid first half, from both teams.

    I'm really enjoying the game.

I feel united are playing quite well. A few loose passes. Rooney is slightly isolated up front.

VDS is solid, nothing coming off him and he looks confident.

Good first half of football, Chelsea have really come in to it in the last ten minutes. Valencia and Anderson need to step it up big time.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 54,680 ✭✭✭✭Headshot

happy with that display from utd, only weak point is Giggs
he needs to start getting in gear

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,975 ✭✭✭nkay1985

Decent first half. Teams pretty much cancelling each other out. Not too much in the way of chances. I think United look very solid at the back when Chelsea are trying to come through the middle. That's leaving us a bit more exposed to crosses though as Evra seems to be tucked in to help stop Chelsea playing through us.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 15,951 ✭✭✭✭Villain

Shocking level of play from 1st and 3rd place, each team is giving the ball away way too often. This really needs a goal

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19,432 ✭✭✭✭Liam O

For an average team with a dodgy defense and a crap midfield, playing against the best team in the world, I'd say Chelsea are doing well ;)

giggs and valencia have been poor so far

If you look at a compilation of United goals conceded over the last 2 seasons, the majority will have come form the left back position, due to an absent Evra.

A left back isnt gonna stop everything and those goals vs liverpool were the centre halfs fault in these games...I wouldnt swap Evra for any other left back around. Crazy statement.

considering he's fouled everytime he goes by a Chelsea player then I'd say he's doing ok. It seems that there are only 2 ratings people give to players in here, great and poor, there is a middle ground!
