Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

And you have seen something the rest of us have missed that leads you to believe we will go to France and try to attack them ? We didn't try and attack at home ffs.

Andrews is grand but Whelan is far to weak in the challenges tonight. Not the worst of the bunch though (Kilbane)

    Exceptional tackle from Dunne.

Don't think you can fault the performance of the team. It has been light years ahead of most of our group performances.

We have just come up against too much quality here. It was crazy to underestimate this French side.

Large spells of the second half maybe, but they havent really created many chances. The only one i can think of is the Kilbane backpass, Ireland have had far better chances.

We had 2 half decent chances which came from 2 french defensive errors. We attacked with almost little support for our front 2.We will go to France with the same negativity.

    Rubbish , sure it is.

France just needed to step up a gear.

A decent performance from the Irish, just lacking that little bit of spark against a french side who despite not playing on all cylinders are a class apart.

The French kit has a touch of S & M about it.
And the Irish one has a touch of M&S about it :p

Sickening dissappointment, we always seem to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory :(

Still, have to give credit for the first half, the french are just fitter and have a higher gear then us.

I wouldn't say far better. They could have ended it tonight if they were more clinical.

Someone said earlier we were playing at 110% and they were at 65%. Yet they still won. Their quality came through on the night. No shame in that.

I think it would be a real shame if the players got pilloried despite working so hard.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 328 ✭✭Codofwar

what just happened that resulted in the row?

We can't keep a clean sheet at home and we can't score. Tie over imo. Good performance from the lads for 70 mins, but the legs went from them after the goal.

The players on the pitch gave it their all, don't think we can have any arguments there.

Lack of respect there from Diarra

Diarra said something..not sure. Stupid fella picking a fight with Dunney, im happy about that, now the irish lads will be biting at the bit even more on Weds.

He's a nasty little bollox Diarra, he was useless tonight too. Couldn't make it at Chelsea, couldn't hack it at Arsenal, couldn't wait to leave at Portsmouth and now happy to be a pedestrian at Madrid.

True we couldn't compete over 90 minutes but did well for maybe 50-60. Gonna be next to impossible to win over there considering how we are set up tactically. :(

Cant believe that Ireland sat back so much in the second half and make no mistake about it they were told by the negative Trap to do so.
we are paying this man 2m a year and we don't even set our stall out to attack in our own backyard. if we lost i wouldn't mind but so long as we lose attacking.
the one thing we couldn't do tonight was concede a goal but we did. half time my arse, its all over :(

RTE panel taking sh*te as usual.

"We stepped down" says Giles. Total nonsense.

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,209 ✭✭✭Redzer7

Me personally I thought it was a good display. Didn't take the chances. Not fit enough, half of the lads have beer bellys :o.

To be honest, my opinion is that professional players of any sport should be physically fit enough to play their sport hard for the duration and not gas. France did and we didnt. Basic fitness questions should be asked...
