Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

My new lubitel 166b

Lubitel arrived today, but I'm still waiting on the medium format film. So I crowbarred a 35 mm roll into it to take some photos, and check for light leaks etc. Have to say, doesn't work so well with the 166b :D. Halfway through the roll it decides to pop open the back and I lose the first half of the film! So I had to go back and retake some more of the shots. Anyway, I held the back in place for the rest and managed to clear my way through the rest of the film . Have to say, I found the view finder on top lots of fun to use!

These were the 4 best shots. I know I've managed some very unlevel horizons, but still getting used of it. It was much smaller than I was expecting. Plus, the lens seems to be slightly twisted, so doesn't always point quite in the deirection I was aiming.

    Any advice greatly appreciated.

They have turned out very nice indeed! I have a lubitel 2. I must google the one you have. Nice results you got there :)

Thanks! Yeah, I'm well happy with it. Still have to get used to all the little knobs and levers though :D

It looks quite similar to the Lubitel 2.

Good pics, it wasn't so bad after all, you'll enjoy it more with 120 film and bigger negatives.
here's a link if it helps any, http://www.butkus.org/chinon/russian/lubitel-166b/lubitel-166b.htm

I put IIford XP2 400 in it. I underestimated the required shutter speed in some shots so overexposed a bit, but I liked how they came out all the same. Just waiting on my Medium Format now to go crazy on photos!
