Downlighter cover

Hi Folks

Hope a sparky can help me out on this one, my bathroom has a downlighther, when I was up in the attic i noticed that the sparks didnt do a tasty job fitting it i was wondering if i could put an earthenware or clay plant pot over the downlighter as a cover as i want to put insulation around the area where he installed it. as he chucked away the insultation and now i have mould coming through the area where there is no insulation. I know downlighters heat up so its a no no putting the insulation at the moment near it so i was just wondering would a small flower pot do the job?

Yeah flower pots with vent holes can work if they have enough space so the heat doesn't build up too much. You can also buy fire proof hood for about €20. Like below.
