    i know its not really a moddin or building question but im looking for parts for a hdd drive and this is prob the best place to ask .
    i have a samsung 500gig sata hdd and my son tried to help with the last build and broke the sata and power connectors at the back of the drive, the drive has all of my photos etc for the past couple of years on it and really want to get it working as i dont have any other backup of them.
    its a samsung 500gig model no is hd502ij.
    have tried different models but the setup for the power and sata on the rear of the drive seems to be diff than other samsung models, if anyone could help me out here i would really appriciate it

    Did any of the metal connectors break or is it just the plastic part of the connectors? If it's the plastic part you should be ok if you connect the cables up and hold them in place.

    yeah the metal pins are fine but i've tried holding the power and sata leads in place does not seem to work one min it shows up on pc next its gone have tried to do this several times just to recover the stuff but every time it fails when files are being copied over

    I'm not sure if I understand you correctly. Why don't you buy the exact same model drive again and swap the board?
