Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Have always liked these cars and would like to get my hands on a restoration project. Not too worried about engine condition as many of these may have a million miles on them . Anyone know where I could pick up a non runner at the righ money ?;)

So that would be a W202 model. Good solid car, but they do rust, especially the 97>00 ones.

UK cars are far worse too, get a high spec. auto if you can !

Probably not a classic yet but certainly the 202 series were the last of the real mercedes and will be collectible in the future. ;)

.........every time a new Merc comes along folk say that about the previous one ! :D

I dont think the W202 or any after that will ever become collectable. They werent loved enough. I have two of 'em BTW.

Wasn't the 202 series the first product of MB's cost-cutting exercise?

Nah, I'm pretty sure the C-Class was too. You see a lot of them around with rust and Car Mechanics recently did an article on them as well highlighting the typical Merc problems of that era.
