Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Sorry guys, didn't make it home from Thurles till 8.30 so wasn't much point heading on up, I don't know who has my copy of the book but if he/she PM's me I'll make arrangements to get it picked up.

Hope the heads are not too sore this morning.

Had a great night last night. We had a wonderful turnout of people (all normal :D ). It was great to see so many new faces along with the old ones.

I got some shots, and shall post them up later. (bribes taken willingly ;) )

The post launch event in the pub finished at about 1.30 /2am in Devitts. Altogether a great night.

Just wondering how I get hold of the book I paid for. I'm living in London right now. I'm wondering how has them or can I arrange for someone to collect mine for me?

    Thanks.

You didn't take all the pictures on them, if that helps. Some are taken by Pullandbang, maybe by others as well...

Well, on the other hand I now have some pics you took with my lovely DIGITAL-slr :D:D

Actually you could upload it onto Facebook and attach it to the event. That way I wouldn't be "borrowing" it I would just be tagging my ugly mug instead :)

Finally got a good look at the book last night.

Some great stuff in there indeed. Congrats all.

    A few general observations though;

    1. The book could be a bit bigger
    2. More photos would also be nice
3 I'm sure you could get a similar quality book printed locally for less. Maybe make more for SSF and support the local economy.

The idea was to make a series of books, so the size was matched to the first book. We have also started a colour theme for the covers on a Colour Wheel.
    Covey wrote: »

This was limited by the number of people who submitted images.

We did look. There was interest in Shakespeare Photobooks. They were about the same price though. If you have any contacts then it would be good for next time.

    What CabanSail said, plus:

A project like this is an exercise in compromises. A bigger book (I presume you mean larger format pages?) would have cost more (possibly substantially more) and wouldn't sit as nicely beside last year's. A book with more photos (assuming we had got those photos) would have cost more.

As for printing locally: blurb offer free software that allows (what I thought was) a pretty nicely designed book with relatively little effort. A local publisher would probably need something designed in Quark or InDesign, and that wasn't something I was in a position to do - certainly not in the timeframe required.

Please don't take me up wrong when I say this: you're very welcome to volunteer for next year's book, and to influence the design decisions - as long as you realise that compromises will always have to be made.
