Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Hello everyone

I've tried the character map with no luck and found insert/symbol/insert to be slightly better if I wanted a half or a quarter.

But I want n/2 with the line in the middle, any help?

    Thank you for your time

Microsoft Equation Editor is included in all Microsoft Office versions.

    OpenOffice has OpenOffice.org Math

What I usually do is use subscript & superscript. put the number on top of the fraction in superscript and the one in the bottom in subscript saves time as long as its not a large formula or some thing.

the shortcuts for superscript is: 'ctrl' + '+'
    subscript is: 'ctrl' + 'shift' + '+'

    Ok,

So I used Insert/Object/Microsoft Equation 3.0 so I was able to do the single fraction I wanted.

But when using the above to show division (one on top of the other) I couldnt use supersript to put in -1 (superscript/subscript not working on this post, it just makes letter size bigger/smaller) into the bottom one.

Am I better off doing the division in one line or is there a way round it?

Its for college so needs to be typed.

Cooley booley got it sorted, I tacked on the superscript outside the equation box.

    Not very user friendly.

What do you do for the horizontal line?
