Only 124 more days to go :D I haven't been this excited about a TV series in a long time, if ever!

Is there any chance of the forum that was approved for this actually getting created does anyone know? Must be a new record for boards, with the length between approval and creation. It's not that hard to fix the TV category is that's the issue.

Love the right wing bigotry that GoT has inspired:

It's funny because it's satire - the original article isn't serious. It made me laugh!

That version of the piece didn't even have Dany's boobs in it.

I think this the original (for the sake of clarity... of course :))

    5. By depicting the traditional heterosexual family unit as dysfunctional and a socialistic revolutionary army as an ideal alternative, the show reveals its underlying communist bias.

    LMAO

George R. R. Martin has given some update on the next two books in an interview URL="http://www.theonion.com/articles/these-last-two-are-gonna-be-real-turds-george-rr-m,26934/"]link[/URL:
SANTA FE, NM—In the wake of last year's highly successful publication of the fifth installment in his A Song Of Ice And Fire series, author George R.R. Martin assured fans Tuesday the final two books in the fantasy saga would be "complete turds." "For starters, there'll be no mention of the dragons at all, because I'm pretty much sick of writing about dragons at this point," said Martin, who added he would also be introducing an entirely new storyline set on a completely different continent and featuring a cast of at least 50 new characters all vying for the same throne. "And I'm going to take even longer to write these last two, at least a decade each. Who knows if I'll even be alive to finish them? Who cares? My son knows how to spell most of the characters' names, so maybe I'll let him wrap the whole thing up." Martin said that while he didn't want to give too much away, he was certainly going to kill off Tyrion and never resurrect him, because "that ****ing dwarf" was annoying the **** out of him
    Interesting :)

If nothing created in 6 weeks I'll be bringing it to their attention more directly. Probably not a lot of discussion needed until then I guess.

Any thoughts on what scene they might use as the end-of-season cliffhanger?

The actual book is quite low key compared to the pyre and omfg dragons that was the end of book1.

    From memory its just
Osha and Rickon go one path, Hodor and Bran go the other way.
I'd suspect a more climatic/wtf ending would be wanted.

    My guess:
The last episode will cover Barristan Selmy's rescue of Dany, and probably end with Jon discovering that Mance is on the march to the Wall. I can see the final scene being a tracking shot of the advancing Wildling horde.

Someone on a forum had a great idea for the ending of season two. I think it's awesome:P
The ending of Season 2 is an epilogue of the third book. The tree horn blows, Sam and the ominious "Others". Can you imagine the waiting for people who haven't read the books?:P

I think the end of the book will make a great ending to the tv series! Done properly the audiance will be still be believing that B&R are dead! And then seeing them rise from the crypts

As an ending for Season 2 I quite like the idea of Book 3 Spoiler
Jaime having his hand cut off. Think the flashing sword and spurting blood would be a good wtf ending. Obviously its something that happens a few hundred pages into Book3. But one of the problems with Book 2 is that Jaime isn't in it much so I could see them bringing forward a lot of his scenes from Book3 so as to keep Nicolaj Coster-Whatsits to the forefront.

That makes me wonder how they'll do season 4 and 5, actually. It will be quite a mess to make into sensible TV that doesn't alienate the audience (imagine not seeing most of the popular characters for an entire season?? Ratings will plummet).

I'd like to see that as the end for Season 2, but I imagine the end will be around Jon/Sam and the Wall storyline.

I'd imagine they'll gut books 4 & 5 and make them into one season
Getting rid of 90% of Daeny's faffing about and the suitors/politics etc. Probably cutting out a lot of Arya's story before her emigration and a lot of Cercie's fall/"repenting" which I found a bit convoluted and dull. Obviously they'd have to leave some of it in to get the characters to their positions at the end of their respective books
and, it would really be no harm to be honest. It would be suicide to keep them in the same structure as the books.
Hopefully it will get that far. It certainly should as Book/season 2 and 3 would make great TV
After the net going mad at Ned's end I can't wait to see it explode after the Red Wedding
But if it is going to keep the ratings up to finish the story then books 4/5 are going to HAVE to be stripped and combined

I'd say books 4 and 5 will be done on timeline order, rather than as done in the books, so season 4 and 5 will both consist of a mix of both books. It would be too confusing otherwise I'd say. They could remove chunks of the bloated crap in Meereen though, and it would probably be the better for it.
