I see that the Christmas Decorations have been put up in the Blanchardstown Centre.

I have to say that I think they look really nice!!!!

What does everyone else think of them?

Damn right! Debenhams have been selling Christmas decorations since September, ffs. There should be a ban on all things Christmas related until December 1st.

Why, tho? Cause it annoys you?

I like the decorations in the centre cos they are free for everyone to see and they look attractive (make the centre look much better) and make people feel happy!!!!

Because it turns Christmas into a 2 or 3 month long event, as opposed to what it was when I was a kid, starting maybe in the last week of November. It's just blatent greed and commercialism. Even coming up to Halloween all the stuff for that was vying for space in the shops with Christmas stuff. As for people feeling happier coming up to Christmas, I actually think it's the opposite. You never see people in shops looking as stressed as they do at Christmas during the rest of the year.

I love the decorations everywhere. I think they add some christmas spirit and give you a nice warm feeling on the run up to...the run upto christmas!:p:p

They are put up too early in my opinion.

But I have to say they do look well this year.

I like to see the place dressed up for Christmas, but after 2 weeks of it and the cheesy background music, I just hate going into shopping centres. Then by the middle of December, when we've had 4 to 6 weeks of it, I've usually get to the stage where I just want it to be January already.
It would be better (for the customers anyway) to start all the Christams malarkey on Dec. 1st, rather than stocking up the shops with Christmas stuff in September.

I love the look of the decorations but have to agree that the polar bears playing the music can be cheesy...........!

Do you really think the decorations being put up early are the cause of "blatent greed and commercialism"?

Personally I feel happy this time of year because I am not stressed out - I do all my Christmas shopping in Janauary.

I just enjoy the simple things like a nicely dressed Christmas tree on display in the centre!

Have they new ones this year?

I agree that they're a bit early, but I still get excited when I see them :o Also, I think a lot of people are starting their shopping a bit early this year - I know I am - so it's nice to have a bit of a Christmassy atmosphere.

I feel sorry for people working in retail though who have to put up with Christmas music for 10 weeks in a row!
